I JUST FOUND OUT WHY JELLY FISH KEPT APPEARING IN THE MUSIC VIDEO! Jellyfish symbolise many things, but they can also symbolise wake-up calls. We see jelly fish throughout the music video because she's being called to wake up. At the end the jellyfish all die because she's not waking up from the dream.
OOh, I've always wondered about the jellyfish! This makes so much sense, especially considering they also appear in another music video from the same album---It's another maze there. For a while, I just thought kikuo really liked jellyfish or something.
what I think about this is that she is in a coma. She has a school uniform and she says she “yearns” for someone, most likely her prents. When she reached her hands out to make a triangle its like a warning sign to show there could be animals that block the road. She’s mainly in forest like areas as well and the creatures look more like wild animals you’d see in a forest (bunnies and deer like creatures in the bg). Also the lyrics saying “where am I to be ?” And her hanging upside down is like she’s neither alive or dead. She’s waiting utterly still for dawn, to wake up from her “nightmare” which is a coma. I think the long figure we see there is also the grim reaper waiting for her to either fall completely or wake up. The last scene where the deer is jumping instead of standing still could be the last thing she saw before going into coma. A deer jumping in front of the car and her repeating the cycle of that road endlessly. I really like the other meanings people get from this video too, its so interesting to read people’s thoughts about this masterpiece
Honestly, the wonderful thing about the song is that it can be interpreted in many different ways. Some see the story of a girl trapped in a nightmare-ish limbo, some see an allegory for schizophrenia, and some depression. It all comes down to personal experience. From my own experience, the song very much hits home when it comes to schizophrenia. Being unable to sleep due to fear and waiting for dawn to feel safe, life feeling like a waking nightmare and all you can do is hope you wake up, the erratic and powerful vocals that sound like they're crying to the heavens, and trying to find "salvation" through death out of desperation. A psychotic episode very much feels like a nightmare-ish limbo where time passes irregularly. It's an experience I wouldn't wish upon anyone as it destroys not only your own life, but that of those close to you as well.
For me, it reminds me of what antidepressants were like for my mental state. I didn't even know what I was going through besides an unending nightmare. I started taking them after having paranoia and depression following my great grandmothers death. I was 9. The emotional blunting, and what I later realized was Alexithymia, along with several traumas since that day, and additional medications because the meds "weren't working", led to a complete psychosis based episode. I was 17 when they finally took me off.
As someone who is also schizophrenic I second this. The fear of going to sleep paired with the trauma of waking life is really enough to make you go insane but you don't want to tell anyone because you know it's not normal and everyone would treat you like an antichrist trying to "fix" you. It's the reason I express it through stories and turning my dreams into different plots I plan to write and animate. Just so people can understand even a sliver of what I'm going through on a daily basis. That constant delusion and dissociation with reality and not being quite sure what's real and what's not.
Finally you dropped your reaction on this song! :DD I've always recommended this back then and seeing this makes me happy, glad you liked it and congrats on 100k! I forgot to mention but I saw this theory where she died in a car crash because of the deer in the middle of the road which is why the video has been showing a sign of a deer on 2:23 and on 6:06 and another theory mentioning that she died in her sleep causing her to be stuck in a nightmare but either way, both scenarios could possibly led her to a nightmare. Now she's basically trying to find a way to escape these nightmares saying to let herself out, wake her up and also by running, hanging, killing herself and other methods that was shown in the video though I'm not sure if this is correct but it's just something i saw back then.
At this time, Kikuo was depressed and was composing this song in a depressed state. This song is linked to Kikuo's mental state. It seems that Kikuo was in a slump because his songwriting wasn't going as planned. This is from a Kikuo fan in Japan.
@@shooshiMooshi Lol I love ur vids bro I literally watched em when I was in my worst point in life... Luv u bro. :3 (not in a weird way in just like fav youtuber way)
I really relate to this song, so I'm happy you reacted to it !! I'm not schizophrenic but ever since I was a toddler I have dealt (and I'm still dealing) with delusions and hallucinations. The part where she says "Please wake me from my nightmare, in this world I can't breathe. Please somehow bring us to one another, for I believe there's salvation waiting for me." IS SO RELATABLE. Feeling like no one is there to help you, that feeling that no one understands is always lingering and teasing you. All you want to do is get along with someone, for someone to understand what you're going through. You want to be saved and you're always scared of your delusions, of not being in control of your life. idk if I'm explaining myself but that's MY experience with hallucinations and delusions.
I remember when this song used to be theorized as a girl being stuck in a nightmare due to her being in a coma after getting into a car/deer accident the symbolization of the deer being that of those deer warning signs you'd see on the road. Also, taking into account that the reason that she has no mouth and legs could be due to the accident and her being hospitalized. LOL time really does change and tbh the other newer theory make so much more sense than the old one 😊
I like how personal this song can feel for so many people. For me I relate to it because I am in a constant state of dissociation which does often feel as if im dreaming and wishing someone would wake me
i remember when i was younger and found this song i felt SO represented by it because all my life i've suffered from hallucinations and delusions and my life (while unmedicated) felt exactly like the video two years ago i was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and i always come back to this song because it makes me feel less "alone" and more understood it truly is a masterpiece
Vocaloid truly is the only medium that I know, with actual, non-romantasizing, progressive representation! I just love and praise this community for that, so much!! Also praise and thank Shooshi for bringing to us not only this medium, but on top of that - his great reaction!
Another KikuoHana song!!! I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it (as I do with every new Kikuo song) and I'm so happy you went over it. I really enjoy hearing your opinions and interpretations on different videos that have deeper/darker meaning and I look forward to every video you make!
It seems that Kikuo was composing this song during this period when he was in a busy and mentally tough state. This song is linked to Kikuo's mental state. With love from Japan
Schizoaffective disorder runs commonly in my family and I am luckily enough to not have developed it although my uncle who I am very close to has had it he ended up burning down his house because he believed a cat told him to being close to him I didn’t know a lot about what he was going through but I can say this is definitely very good representation of it another W for kikuos gorgeous music
I discovered this song right before my 12th or 13th birthday, a few months after it came out (October, nearly Halloween) and I love spooky stuff. It was one of my first vocaloid songs. When I tell you kid-me was hyped, I. Was. *HYPED.*
YESSSS hanatan is popping off in the reaction video genre lately, can't complain her vocals are insanely good and I can't imagine anyone else singing kikuo's songs❤
I've also seen another interpretation, where it says that maybe she was in a car accident and hit a deer (why she keeps doing the tringle thing with her hands, its the sign to look out for deer jumping onto the road) and now she's in a coma, and she's trying to wake up.
Song of Night is a banger and is probably one of the only wholesome-ish Kikuo songs. It’s an old song, but Kikuo posted an MV of it like a couple of months ago?? I forgot. Anyways yeah.
My oc is actually a schizophrenic, separation anxious, experiment who was diagnosed with those disorders at 5, and those were diagnosed to her due to trauma, so seeing you watch this reminded me of her lol
I literally adore watching your vocaloid reactions especially since I am a HUGE vocaloid fan! I’d love to see you react to some Meiko songs because she’s one of my favorites despite being pretty underrated :)
Yeah the vocals are gorgeous here, though I hope I can suggest a song Not Photogenic by Utsu-P ft.Miku The tuning is stellar and the meaning of the song is amazing, I think it would make an interesting reaction Great videos as always ^^
Very nice song ! ♥And I love your reaction videos 😊 The viewers who start singing my time in the chat at 6:02 make me want to close my eyes and live this dream lmao🤣🤣
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE I REQUESTED THIS A LONG TIME AGO! HANATAN ALWAYS DELIVERS AND SHOOSH THREW THE PACKAGE AT MY FACE LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Omar, i know this has nothing to do with this video, but i just needed to say it. I appreciate you so much and everything you do. You always make me feel better after watching your videos. Your appreciation and true care for your fans always shows and it often makes me tear up (and I always need a good cry, even now). You always make me feel seen, reacting to videos that I relate to and speaking up about struggles. I don't even know how to express how grateful i am in words, but I just want you to know how amazing of a person you are and by being yourself, you managed to save me. You often give words of comfort at the end of your reaction videos with dark topics and honestly I have to admit those few words go a long way. Thank you again for being the person you are.
This is my favorite song! I love how powerful Hanatan's voice is in this version, and really sells the "Please! Help me!" Vibe. I'd also recommend listening to the vocaloid version as well, because it gives another kinda vibe of "I can't escape, and I'm on my last breath" that's just as good.
Bro notice how in the end the jellyfish stop swimming . I think it’s because they can mean like wake up or bad memories , and in the end they stopped swimming to like show that like there is no hope for her to wake up ….
i'm schizophrenic, and this hits close to home. delusions that the world was a simulation and that i was the only real person, that people are out to get me (even the police were on their side), that my brain was rotting, it was a living nightmare. just like how the video portrayed
I actually have schizophrenia myself, and I have to tell ya, this video was portrayed really well, people think it’s a joke but it’s not, one of the main things that happens is hat you see certain things that aren’t real or just your imagination, and the way the video did that was played out really well. And Shooshi reacting to it made it ten times better
If this man is to continue at this rate with all of the darket Vocaloid songs, then I suggest to him "m/es" by PinocchioP. Though the producer isn't known all that much for twisted music and instead social commentary alongside feelings of alienation, I do find it to be one of his most unsettling pieces once you see the lyrics.
