Hi Justin. Thank you for another absolutely fascinating presentation. Since attaining adulthood, Adler’s theory notwithstanding, I have tried only to measure myself today against myself yesterday, and not against anybody else. This partly developed out of observing at university some frighteningly intelligent people that I could never hope to emulate. I just tried to do what I could with the brain cells and moral compass the Lord gave me and contented myself with that. Likewise, I never regarded another person as inferior to me. We are all God’s children and of equal worth. At risk of getting my wrist slapped for wilfully ignoring your lesson, in these areas of knowledge (and undoubtedly in many others) I can say I am very content in regarding myself as inferior to you.😉 As I commented in your short video on ‘Taming Your Ego for Personal Growth’, the more I learn, the more I realize there's even more stuff I don't know! Also, I find the older I get, the more I realise there’s still an infinite amount of stuff I’ll never know. I hope that will protect me against developing a superiority complex. Best wishes. 💗✌
A lot of what I now teach, I've had to go through some tough lessons to learn. I've struggled with inferiority and superiority complexes in the past. Once I learned how to be compassionate for my own self first and foremost it changed my life and my challenged my negative beliefs. I now know to choose what I want to experience in an intentional manner aligned with self love and service to others. I always say you've been given a voice to speak. You've been given a brain to think. You've been given a body to perform actions. Use all of these gifts in a way that's true to your being and it literally won't matter what anyone else thinks or feel about you, because authenticity is one of the highest frequencies we can express.
