Nice shave! If a bit bloody ;-) I haven't seen that Nivea pre-shave before; I sometimes use Nivea facial scrub as a pre-shave. One of these days I may get a Variant - I have a Fat Boy, a Fat Guy, a Slim, a Black Beauty and a Pearl Flexi though, so no rush for another adjustable - lol! I do have a couple of Parker non-adjustables though; the 94r is one of my favourites. Diwali is a fairly big deal here in Brampton. We have a very large South Asian population (somewhere around a third of the population) so there were a LOT of fireworks going off here last night! Growing up in Newfoundland, Bonfire Night was a huge deal for the kids. All the kids in the neighbourhood would gather up scrap wood, old tires - basically anything that would burn - and even go into the woods to chop down trees. We would be gathering things for weeks, and after Halloween would drag everything to the chosen spot and, on November 5th, set it ablaze (under the watchful gaze of the adults). And then we'd roast weiners and marshmallows; some would make S'mores. It's not as big a thing there now - much stricter fire regs - but MAN! ir was fun as a kid!

Nice shave Chris, Hogmanay is only on New Year's Eve but depending on how much you drink, the hangover can last a week 😂😂 Just like my midweek shave, it's amazing the shave you can have with affordable gear, you don't need the big money stuff. Take care and stay safe brother! 👍🏻💈

Hi Chris. I'm a Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow guy. For me, it gives a very efficient shave although blades are a very personal and subjective area and the classic "Your Mileage May Vary" is never so true! Keep up the good work!

Great shave. I’ve tried two 7’Clock blades. One was the Super Stainless (Green) that did no good for me as it cut me up and irritated my skin. The other was the Sharp Edge (Yellow) that I really like as it’s very sharp and smooth. I haven’t tried the Super Platinum (Black) blades yet, but I’d love to try them in the future. Nice Shave Chris, Thank you for mentioning Diwali, love & respect from India. When it comes to blades, India is one of the best place to be, I use the same blade as my goto, one of the best blade made in India, sharp & smooth, in India many different blades are easily available in medical shops & online.

Fantastic shave, Chris, as always. I should order some 7 o'clock blacks for the end movember, I've been wanting to try that blade for some time. BTW is that your wife's name in Japanese on your forearm? I still struggle with kanji but I sort of can read hiragana and katakana symbols.

Great demonstration that you don't "need" to spend much on gear to get excellent results Traditional wet shaving, even though a bit claret spilt. Parker make some nice razors and the Variant looks great, just a bit heavy for me. I get on well with many India made blades and they are cheaper than the Russian counterparts. Have a great weekend.

Great shave Chris!! I have the 7 o' clock greens and yellows. I haven't tried any of the others. I love the Winner's you sent me and the Willy's too! I still have Rubie's, Minoras, Dorco Titans, Astra superior blue's, Bolzano superinox, Dorco HQ & Inoxiable Elios here to use that I haven't tried yet! My fav's seem to be Nacets, Vikings sword and A Best at present but have only used the first Winner so far and I was impressed. I have recently started using the Sensitive cool balm from Nivea and I find it great!! I hope you and Caroline are well mate and I send much love and hugs from Joy and myself. Best wishes, Dave.

Nice shave Chris. I've used a couple of the Gillette 7 O'clocks (the green and the yellow) with the yellow for me feeling the sharper. Both really good blades, some of my razors I find the green the better, some the yellow. They were fairly cheap on eBay from what I can remember.

Nice "colorful" shave. Thank goodness for alum. If I ever get another adjustable it would be the Variant. But that's a big IF now that the 6S is my daily driver. I've learned to live vicariously through videos like yours and the other wet shaver channels. Take care of that Adam's apple 😉
