Did we learn anything from Robert Baratheon getting drunk on a hunt? Yes, thankfully we did. No boars (or kings) were harmed in the making of this episode. This was another solid installment in the Targaryen saga, and as much as we enjoyed the dragon battle...we want MORE! More dragons! Always more dragons. The dragon rider is Ser Lanor, the son of Corlys velarion. There's no such thing as the kings riders. Daemon didn't want to get help from his brother, he wanted to win the war himself, so he acted before the kings reinforcements arrive.

Of course Cole qualifies as a good looking man. They casted a british guy, with 1/4 english blood for the accent, 1/4 iraki for the tan, and 1/2 french for the... whatever french are good for.

In the letter Viserys said he’s bringing men for the “victory that has evaded us” Daemon was like I know this weak king didn’t just say us like he’s been in this war for three years watching his people die Viserys never cared since the first episode.

The new dragon rider is Laenor Velaryon, son of Lord Corlys and Princess Rhaenys (who is a dragon rider herself), so half-Targaryen, not exactly a randomly selected dragon riding cadet 😂 He was the one who made the "Master of Complaints" comment at the pre-battle meeting.

I mean, yes the age of the prince was the only problem for him (even if they would be engaged until he is older and it was a common thing to happen, remember Margaery?) It’s the Targaryens, incest is expected. The king’s parents and grandparents were both brother and sister, and his first wife was his cousin. It was actually a smart move, because Otto would guarantee that his line would ascend to the throne even if Rhaenyra became queen and it would avoid a fight. Except she would never go for that, as she doesn’t like the Hightowers. It’s better to not think with modern views in these cases, incest is common in the House of Dragon and it is preferred, so they can keep their line more pure. And age for marriage is also another thing, Daenerys in the books was married off at 13.

Warning: avoid another rewatch of GOT Season 3 Episode 4. That bastard Joffrey spoils the ending for this show. But again we might never find out how it ends because viewership significantly dropped with the release of episode 3.

GoT didn't have that many locations by the first three episodes. HoTD doesn't either. The story about the civil War hasn't even begun yet. They're just setting the foundation.

I love that you 2 like Dadgaryen. Yeah he is not a great King but he is a good man at least as far Targs go. edit: Does the Queen on the right watch the episode before hand? She seems to know what happens

My son bought me "Fire and Blod" for Christmas but I don't want to spoil anything for myself so I'm going to be able to read it nice and slo in conjunction with thee timeline of the events of the show. I think they chose the same intro music because it is the same universe. It'll be interesting to see if any other spinoff series go the same route because if they do well realize that's a stylistic choice HBO is choosing to go with.

17:52 - 26:48 If you look at the scene with Rhaenyra she has a face full of blood and at the end of the episode Daemon has a face full of blood too which considers that the two ended up with their faces full of Blood What a coincidence 🤔 The Daemon hitting the messenger and a Game of Thrones reference in Game of Thrones Jon snow he asks why they don't use messengers than crows so he replies it's been a long time since People,Matt Smith is killing it as Daemon Targaryen The daemon he is very proud of he would never accept help from his brother daemon is not a bad person nor a good person he is a gray character, George Martin has said in several interviews that the daemon is neither good nor bad, he is a gray character and George Martin's favorite character is Daemon Targaryen, there are several interviews with the actor who plays daemon who is Matt Smith he also speaks several times in interviews that daemon loves his family and that he would never harm his family and that Daemon would give his life for viserys is for rhaenyra he loves his family and that sometimes they have their problems but he wouldn't hurt any of them and Matt Smith also said that the daemon doesn't want the throne he wants to show his worth to his brother and that he likes it to fight and he likes attention that's what he wants from his brother that's why he does these things

Imagine being so insecure just by the imaginary paranoia of losing your station that you run away from your 2 year old brother's birthday to guilt trip your Daddy. The power lust is real. I'd rather have the burden of ruling fall on someone who has the self awareness to say "I have no wish to rule. I'm not suited".

Book readers have said that this battle was basically a footnote in the book so it's not a surprise that it's not super detailed and we don't necessarily get to see the end of the fight where Daemon takes the crabfeeder down. 🤷‍♀️ Because it was a very very small moment In the book. Would it have been cool to see it? Sure. But it's also understandable why they didn't, ya know?

Well they didn't have a force of dozens of random dragon riders. Only Targaryens can ride dragons. That's the whole reason behind the incest. "Keeping the blood pure" isn't because they just want all their babies to have blonde hair. It's because only people with Targaryen blood can bond with dragons.

Nice reaction, it's pretty inevitable that each episode here feels a little more jarring than they did in GOT, simply because of the timeline of the book. So far they are handling it very well, a three-year gap can easily go wrong and throw up a disconnect for the audience. This a very good show, all the more impressive when you consider the weight hanging over it after the...controversy of how GOT ended.

Do we still shocked targaryen marrying each other? It isnt weird in their world though, since they are known to keep pure blood for the magic and dragons, we cant watch this show while inputing real world to this fantasy world cos it will only bothering us further lol

I Ike your reactions but if you will get shocked by every under age marriage or casual incest in this lore then it will be a very long show for you I think. 😬
