On my third relisten and I can say this is easily one of my top 5 of the year. Everything about this album met my expectations from Counterparts and more. Soo underrated!

This is my favorite metal album of the year, as I expected. Counterparts are in my top 3 favorite metal bands of all time, I was extremely excited for this, and it was perfect

Counterparts has always been a very respected band in the genre. Really cool guys that are even better live. While a lot of people relate to their lyrics (also really well composed like poetry) I’m more into the instrumentals. The dual guitars are creative cause they use the weirdest chords. I’d recommend watching their Compass guitar playthrough sometime. Can understand for sure it’s not everyone’s cup of tea tho, thanks for checking it out man great and honest reaction!

Eulogy, Mirrors, Flesh and Unwavering Vow are 4 of my favourite songs this band has ever put out. Mirrors is probably my favourite because of how hard it hits lyrically. Even though this isn't your kind of music, I'm glad you still found some things to enjoy here. I think out of all the Counterparts albums, this is probably the album that you'd like best since there's a heavy emphasis on cleans.

I love Counterparts. They're the furthest thing from radio played but their guitar work is just so beautiful, heavy and intricate and their vocals/lyrics are hard hitting and emotional. Not to mention their drummer is a robot. I'd be super interested to see you do a reaction to their very first album 'Prophets' as I've been a fan since before it even released.

I think a neat band you should check out is "Two Door Cinema Club" absolute bangers especially their 2010 album. Not full on metal but they remind me a lot of DGD's older stuff in a way. Great video as always btw

My personal favorite Counterparts records are The Difference Between Hell and Home and You're Not You Anymore. I consider both to be the bands best works in very different ways. Hope you consider giving those records a shot, feel like the appeal is clearest in those 2.

Never really listened to this band before. This is my first time hearing the album, and it’s your reaction lol. I gotta say, it’s a sick album and I’m definitely gonna have to check out more by them! I completely agree with your point about not enough clean vocals.
