Nino Lim is an incredibly inspiring figure. I've learned a great deal from him, personally. With every conversation I have with Nino, I am inspired. It's my hope that he memorializes his story with a full book. People can derive many lessons from listening to him. I have learned a great deal, and I regularly share his teachings with others.
I know nothing about this man or his family. I just happened to stumble upon this video. I guess when I saw the title of the video since my relationship with my father was very flawed I would appreciate it. It took my heart and my tears flowed. What a magnificent eulogy it was! Oh my goodness I was in tears what a son you never know someone story just by seeing them that is why there is a saying don't judge a book by its cover I admire his father even though he went through so much he left a legacy behind he was the brain behind those grocery store that's alot for his kids to be proud of he is with his maker God got him. As I watched this video of a fellow filipino to give his Farewell speech for his father my tears flowed. You're such a brave son, who transparently shared good & bad days during your younger days... even until the last breath of your father you had no shame to share how much you are proud of him despite of so many trials,the ups and downs in his life. I am so sorry for your lost ...but you are such a good son...l am crying hard while l am listening to your very expressive eulogy to your father...l have only one SON and a DAUGTHER but l don't feel any such love from them...your experienced in life is almost the same with us only the difference is we are not business minded...and we don't have that much effort to do business... I too had to write a eulogy for my dad… I came to RU-vid to get some ideas… I came across yours. So many similarities as far as my relationship with my dad. Like you, there was a point in my life where I couldn't stand my dad. By the way one of my favorite speeches is also the one you picked ……the man in the arena, so needless to say. Your RU-vid had me bawling. I love my dad, but didn't get along with him. As the an nurse in the Family it fell on me to take on the responsibility. I had to quit my job when I ran out of vacation and sick time. He was bedridden from a stroke, and had to be on hospice for almost a year. I would massage him every day and move his limbs to keep them from getting stiff, and religiously turn him every two hours when he was awake. I'm proud to say he never got a bed sore, and it was like that for almost a year. He was able to die peacefully in his sleep next to the wife he loved of over 67 years. In the end we made amends, and my dad said the kindest words to me. He said he was so proud of me. When he died. I had no sadness because I knew I had given it my all in taking care of him. I finally had the best relationship I have ever at any time with my dad. I too used Theodore Roosevelt's poem in my dad's eulogy… You're brutal honest memory for your dad inspired me to do an honest eulogy… friends and family didn't fly from all over the country just to hear me BS about my dad for 10 minutes… Thanks for your inspiration… if you're ever in San Antonio, Texas… look me up and let me buy you a beer. My dad wasn't perfect and neither am I… It didn't change my love for him. I realize he was a great man, even though the world looked at him as average. I'm sorry for your loss and condolences to you and your family.
Wow... That eulogy rocked my heart with uncontrollable goosebumps. This video kept showing up until, I had to give in and see why it kept a shadow. Now, I found out what profound love truly meant. This is the hardest thing to do, especially when it was in their living years, I did my mother's eulogy, my father's eulogy, and my brother's eulogy... It would have been sweeter when his praise was heard by his father. But things happen like this in the family. The children mostly keep their emotions to themselves just to avoid friction with the parents or father for that matter, and so they stay away. Hope you have peace of mind now. I was sad at the end, that he would not talk nor see his father for a million reason, but at the end he wish to see him again...at least for an hour...he visited his father only during the last few moments of his life...too late of a hero...anyway, condolence...and stay strong..
