If I had known that you were doing your own wiring of the shop, I would have volunteered to do it for you. I just hope that there are not too many inspectors watching because there are many non-code and even violations happening here. Be sure to test each and every circuit before spray foam, otherwise it will be a nightmare to trouble shoot any issues and even worst to repair, ask me how I know! If you get in over your head give me shout, i'm retired now so I have the time. Everything is looking good can't wait to see it in operation.

I'm curious what violations? They Are Smart people and I'm sure They Had to have a building permit to build and I've seen in other videos where they are waiting on inspectors to come check it off before moving forward, so I'm sure if anything isn't up to NEC code they will take care of it

PVC pipes for air will last a few years. Once it explodes once, you will have more explosions after you repair it, as the shock weakens the rest of the line. Unless they make this pipe better than they used to. Has this stuff in my workplace and had to get rid of it.

Insulating a shop is the best money you can spend and more important to me than anything else. Here in lower Alabama near the Gulf Coast we have extreme heat and the worst humidty. If you properly insulate, you can tell a huge difference immediately. Congratulations Fab Rat Team.

The Problem with PVC Pressure Ratings Pressure ratings on PVC pipe can also lead to confusion. Many PVC pipes are rated for 300-600 PSI. Since the average industrial compressed air system is pressurized to 100-125 PSI, this may sound like it is more than enough. However, there are several problems with this assumption. The rating is for the pipe itself, not for seals and joins. PVC is notorious for failing at the joints when used for compressed air. Many adhesives used for PVC piping are not compatible with compressor lubricants, making a failure just a matter of time.

It's a bit scary watching you guys do electrical... I'm an electrician and lets just say there's a few code violations. But that's ok, it's not recorded for everyone to see or anything.😄 As far as switches for your walk through lights, do yourself a massive favor and put in lights with occupancy sensors! You just leave the switches on and no matter what door you come in from overhead or pass doors the lights will just come on. Great for when your hands are full or you drive in and the lights just come on. Bonus the kids won't be able to leave the lights on because they will shut off by themselves!

According to (OSHA) pvc piping for compressed air lines is a no no, because it can rupture when impacted and send shrapnel flying, (Ask me how I know) I've always used Copper, Pex or black iron piping for compressed air lines, just a recommendation, the shop is looking great, been watching this channel from the start and look forward to the content on the scheduled day's!

@@feikebanning532 Yeah and I've been hearing from supervisors in factories for the last 20 years that a papercut could lead to an infection that kills me... 3/4" PEX would have been a better option.

Yea should have used the blue flex line for air. Not that expensive either.

Hey Dar. Good to see you and glad you’ve recovered from your surgery. I’m an old crushed stone and gravel quarry man. I know how hard it is to keep things running.

Regular ole galvinized water pipe from local hardware store works great for air lines. Put an air dryer with drain in-line on supply side, will help with the amount of moisture that will collect and get into air operated items, also helps to extend the life of your pipes.

You guys break all the safety rules just as well as professional electricians. And getting your own mother to work for free is definitely a pro move.

If you are going to drill holes for electrical you need to get a 3/4" Speedbor spade drill bit. The best way to drill small holes in wood.

I use mostly 1 inch because you can fit 3 wires though it if you have to, but ya, speed bores for the win although those 3 fluted, 3/8th inch shafted Irwin bits are nice too.

@@gragor11 I haven't seen those bits. I will have to give them a try.
