I'm Tom from Iowa. I am planning to retire next July and move to guadalajara or the lake chapala area. I love your videos and find them full of useful information

@@alex-wittman I love big cities. I've lived in nyc and spend a lot of time in Chicago. When I was in high school I visited Mexico city. But I think I'm more of a second city type person. It seems more relaxed but still has plenty to do.

Chapala there is nothing to do. You'll be bored quickly / will need to commute to Guadalajara all the time. In Gdl you have everything. I live here. Mind you, a quality / quiet accomodation in Gdl is very expensive. That was my biggest surprise. Also it's big. You will need a car or a motorbike.

I have such a good feeling about Guadalajara, especially that it rains like this! Coming from Egypt, I am starved for rain, and trees, and happy people. I can't imagine what it's really like to live there, but it seems pretty groovy so far.

I went to Parque Alcalde as a young kid. I remember vividly pedaling around the small boats and having lots of fun. I am glad that the park has been maintained and looks even better than I remember. I also miss the rain. The smell of the water and playing in the rain.

Arriving to Guadalajara next week with wife for 5 days. Never been. Live in San Pancho. Not drinkers but are foodies. Staying in old town center. If you have any "can't miss this restaurant" recommendations, I would be very appreciative. We also need to get some quality replacement ceramic plates/serving dishes AND want to see top sites if you want to throw in anything quickly w/o too much brain damage to you. Love your posts...I've been following you since 2020.

Hello from Mérida, Yucatán! It’s incredibly hot here and seems to be getting hotter. Although I enjoy a tropical “feel”, my husband is less and less a fan. How are the overall temperatures in Guadalajara? I remember specifically in one of your videos from Queretaro saying that you were “cold” when you weren’t in the sun. We visited Queretaro and it was not tropical enough of a feel for me. We are still renting in Mérida because we haven’t decided on where to settle in Mexico yet. Can you actually feel seasons there? Does it get cool without being cold? Thanks so much for all your videos. You were definitely one of my main research tools when deciding to make the move. 🇲🇽🌮

Guadalajara has some of the best weather in the entire country. It has Sub-tropical climate. It is also in the state of Jalisco which contains ALL five of Mexico's natural ecosystems. You have the rainy season from June to October. high 60ºs to low 80sºF. Everything is green and lush. November to February is winter so High 70º F but drops drastically at night. Sometimes as low as 40ºs or 50ºs. March to May is the hot and dry season. Dry heat usually high 80s to 90ºF. Pretty colorful year round but I would say the month of October everything is blooming. Pretty colorful if you go outside the city. Not to mentio you are close to coastlines with beautiful tropical beaches, Mountains with coniferous forests, and to the north you got desert. Go visit!
