Great job, that thing is completely rusted. Very hard to do a lot of work on jackstands. Thats how i have to work but thankfully in the south bolts come out. Awesome video!!
if this were me id get your larger van sorted so you can carry more tools and equipment. I would carry copper brake pipe and end. When you sheared the bolt from the sway bar, i would drill it out and use a long bolt and nut to secure. after a few bumps in the road the vise grips (locking pliers) would become dislodged. Always good to see how mobile mechanics work across the water in comparison to us in scotland
@@RoadsideRescue if I was your relative, and you helped kept the vehicle on the road... id volunteer to be an apprentice or go for parts runner for a week in exchange
Hay Ernest can you do a review on your brake bleeder you use and also what are thoughts on using bubble balancer to balance tires and wiheels.Nice video.
@@I_Died_2_Weeks_Ago thanks for the update... I mean he and other technicians are correct with some flat rate and warranty work not paying for the real time job & that should be adjusted by the shop Service Writer/Manager to reflect some of those jobs Rust tax already built in my area... Shop rates are $130+/ hour
Happens normally if a vehicle sits... I take my wire brush cup and electric drill to the rotor surface, just get a head start And check / relube the sliding caliper bolts / pins as well to make sure they move
NEVER USE 555 OR NON-OEM LOWER BALL JOINT ON THE 3RD GEN 4RUNNERS OR 1ST GEN TACOMA. THOSE FAIL IN JUST 20,000 MILES. PLEASE RECHECK FOR FREE-PLAY AROUND 15,000 MILES ON THOSE BALL JOINTS AGAIN. STAY WITH OEM TOYOTA BALL JOINTS (FROM THE DEALER OR ANY LEGIT SELLER) YES, A/M CONTROL ARMS RIPS THROUGH THE RIVET POINTS: I HAVE A 3RD GEN 4RUNNER FOR PAST 16 YEARS SO I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.
The only plus is the limited lifetime warranty... Sometimes if OEM not readily available, gotta go aftermarket to keep the vehicle on the road. Glad Ernest didn't have call backs yet on the trq parts he installed in the past jobs... Or did I just jinxed it?
