In my city in Brasil. We mix the palm oil with cassava flour to make something very similar to eat with our fish cooked with palm oil also. We too celebrate the twins ritual in a special day and some people cooks special meal and invite people for the special occasion. I just love to see all the my connection to the land of my ancestors. The religion is also very important part of our everyday life and we also do very similar ritual. I feel very proud of my heritage. ( Salvador, Bahia- Brasil) ❤️🇧🇷
As an historian the history of the Ga is always fascinating to me,especially their connections to my ethnicity, Yoruba. They are said to be the closest to the Yoruba after Ewe and Fon. In the 17th centuries, the Ga,Fanti,Ewe and Yoruba-Oyo empire formed alliance to defend and stopped Ashanti expansion Eastwards at a town in Togo called Atakpame One could see some similarity, especially in veneration of Twins. In Yoruba town of Ogbomosho, there are many Ga who have been living and doing business in the town as far as 18th century or more. According to oral history, the Yoruba who came to trade with the Ga in the 18th century in Mokola market are from Ogbomosho.
GA tribe is ORIGINALLY from ISREAL.During their migration to present day GHANA they made stop overs in WESTERN NIGERIA and TOGO before settling in modern day GHANA.
This is our culture. Our only mistake is that we didn't package and impose it on other nations like some other nations have been able to impose their culture on Africans mostly through religion.

Sunday and chilled..AYA MAYA!! you are a whole mood bro!! I've always wanted to see this traditional festival in Ghana..it portrays a lot about our culture, great to see you bring this to us. Blessings to everyone seeing this.
@Asiya Komla The truth is, tell your own story through literature, forget the professor studies about us. It is their behavior to make you inferior. They don't have a culture as rich as Africa, that is the reason they use any means to debunk our culture. Do they even understand Christianity too? Let's focus on telling our story in our way. Africa is the focus now in case you don't know. Some of these whites have begun to see Africa from a different perspective. The professor may be one of the racists who don't see anything good in Africa, and you know, philosophy is all about idealism and realism. So you can also debunk his theory if you know the approach to take.
@@nmg1909 White people they are us and they ain't the problems of our backwardness in this earth, we are the pillars of our backwardness in this earth, black, brown, white we are all Humans, one family, we are all Igbos, it's us against the evil elites in this earth now good day.
@@isaacobeng9340 #Umukeze #will #Be #Power #House #Soon I remember when modern country called Ghana her economy was booming back then, I remember how Some tribes from Umukeze now Nigeria help our People in Ewe Igbo>Ghana to fight for their independence back then and we were never appreciated till date, I remember how the grand-daughter of Umukeze now Nigeria firstly deported their brother's and sisters out from Ewe-Igbo/Ghana to Now Umukeze now Nigeria, It was so emotionals, lives was lost, but we kept on striving, till oil was discovered in Umukeze now Nigeria and the rest is history, Umukeze economy was booming, naira was even slide bigger than dollar then Infact it didn't end there, naira was almost same par with British pounds then, we were worship and respected in Alaekeh/America, we were worship in across this earth then, so many beings in across this earth they all flooded to Umukeze now Nigeria in search of greener pasture then, but today what as happen to us now? So many smallers countries in across our continent they all say negative things about Umukeze now Nigeria, they all hate beings from Umukeze now Nigeria, they all fails to realise that without Umukeze now Nigeria there is nothing like ouwarre now Africa, economy power house it's Umukeze in our continent, music industry it's booming, movie industry it's booming, real estate it's booming bringing, dangote refinery coming coming soon and so on, remove Umukeze now Nigeria out from ouwarre now Africa our continent is doom, our continent will be perished completely, Umukeze she is the mother of ouwarre now Africa, she is the mother of the world, Umukeze is the land of great people, in year's to come Umukeze now Nigeria she will be home of world power, it's already predicted, I have spoken. #Chukwuma
This was beautiful - Great history - Goes to show WITHOUT retched Colonialism Ghana & Africa as a whole has a deep substantial cultural identity that should be celebrated - Thank you for sharing the story of the Ga & the Homowo tradition - If only we knew what year they are counting, that would be epic - Love this
@ShayTBD - Greatings from our ancestos. In African cosmology, fundermentally, we do not count time; we only celebrate the ever present cycles within cycles - the eternal now. All events are percieved in the context of re-occuring cycles. If you find any African culture or tradition, as it were, that counts days, months or years, it would be some derivative of western / colonial influence. Stay blessed.

Homowo is the beautiful culture you can experience in Ghana 🇬🇭❤....this guy I have listening to his songs on TV....keep it up bro...the future is bright.
Wow! One video with so much informative content: from Wode Maya barbecuing his chicken, he & his camera man funny dance, Ms Trudy in her beautiful African attire, promoting the young artist, to the Ga festival with the professorial gentleman explaining the cultural details of the festival. This presentation is 10/10. God job.
This is beautiful. It is refreshing to see culture embraced and passed on even after centuries of colonial oppression and attempts to suppress this and other cultures. AFRICA CANNOT BE STOPPED ✊🏿
Ga culture is so rich. Glad to have studied some of it. Very deep spirituality. That's why the culture can stand the test of time. Great vid Wode Maya.
Im not gonna lie wode maye I like these traditional videos in times when we have observed western ways totally and forgotten our way one love from nigeria.
I love your introduction, and support for young artists, excellent and informative video Wode Maya. Love you man and greetings from the Netherlands always.
Hi WODA MAYA I just wanna show you the LOVE & RESPECT I got for you just because we have the same LOVE for AFRICA the MOTHER LAND but mine was a heart but you took yours out so I will be Soooooo happy to invite you and my LOVELY SISTER MISS TRUDY to PARIS
A continent that is so rich with culture and tradition. Thanks man for constantly changing the narratives. Our untold history are coming to light through your channel.
Hi Maya, honestly, I'm very much older than you. But I like your humbleness towards all brothers and Sisters and you indeed are a motivator for us all young and old. I was very much happy when you came over in SA a few months ago. You even managed to make it to Mall of Africa (MOA). i stay about 5 - 10 minutes from the mall. I like it when i give youngsters a word of advice, please don't feel offended because i believe we learn from each other...and i am giving you this info out of love just as i would do to my younger brother; here is the advise that will make you a caring and good boyfriend, please don't get me wrong, i am not saying you are not; Look here Maya, Trudy really loves you, and when you speak with her, be it joking or pranking each other, as a woman, women tend to be easily offended and are very fragile. So i recommend that in most cases, let them feel like they are winning in every conversation that you engage in. It is also good to say sorry bbes in most cases where there seem to be, kind of heated argument. But here is where it matters more; when with friends, be it in the spotlight, let her do the talking a lot because in most cases, women may feel like they are being sidelined and that may indeed affect their affection towards their boyfriends. In cases where you enjoying, make her presence be felt as well, don't act like she is not there. Young man, that woman loves you and i pray that God be with you always. Please do not be offended, its a tip from one of many of your brothers in the continent. When she gives you something, be it food, drink or any other thing you have asked for, it is always good to say; thank you babe....im proud of you guys, stay humble....
Like 👍 the intro with barbecue and wode Maya song and Herman that was amusing.Maya like always shout while dancing .The cultures in Africa make us popular and great in the world. It’s good to participate in those festivals you learn a lot.Always young people ask parents.questions about the cultures in the country you come from. Thanks Maya for this content very rich.💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Brilliant narrative from my Ga brother!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Most of our history has been orally cascaded to us, so there's bound to be differences of opinion or discrepancies. In the main, Kudos to him bcos he's done justice to the Ga tradition and culture. Tsua omanye aba!! 💪🏾👌🏾🙏🏾
American Thanksgiving was originally a Gratitude for the Harvest Festival by the Indigenous people in America but after the Pilgrims came to colonize it was corrupted by their eventual theft and deception.
The Wode Maya theme song 🎧 is just amazing 🤩. Specifically composed for the man pushing the African continent to the world 🌍. Keep soaring high. Homowo festival is the Harvest festival of the Ga people. Am yet to understand some cultural practices of the Homowo festival. Seen many during my days in Ghana 🇬🇭. And it’s very engaging with dancing, sprinkling of the kpokpoi etc. Am yet to know the real name because we called it kpekple. I think 🤔 the name is used interchangeably. Well will find out.
very interesting, subject. young sir. and a lot of respect to the very young artist who posed the invitation , thank you. oh I must say miss Trudy was looking super fantastic and keeping her composure around super stars such. :-)
