THIS IS WHAT CAUSED THE RELATIONSHIP BREAKDOWN

This is something that I've been silent about for a very long time. I wanted to make sure that I had time to process my feelings properly before I began to speak. A wise person doesn't speak out of emotion.
I've done a lot of self relation and I've had time to process my true thoughts. Now is the right time to talk about why the relationship broke down and what I have learned.
I speak on some of these things in todays video but if you want the specific details I have put it in a book for you to read.
Why did I put it in a book?
Because this needs to be talked about properly and it's not something that you can do in a 20 minute RU-vid video.
The book goes into very clear details, and some parts of the book are very hard to read, so consider yourself warned.
You can purchase a copy of the book here.

Some of these comments are so disappointing. Shows that when it comes to women exercising their right to leave a bad marriage, people will always find a way to invalidate her experience or convince her it wasn’t that bad. Nobody runs from home if home isn’t on fire. No woman leaves a happy home with 4 kids unless she feels she HAS to.

But I also understand it's better to leave than to suffer. To any single reading this comment. No marriage isn't hard; it's easy and joyous with the right one. Life in general isn't easy. Am sure the levelling of disrespecting "him" or " did you ever love him" questions could have been framed more sensitively. Marriage is not an easy task. I am 41, I met my husband when i was 20 and we got married in 2012 when i was 30 years old. I have know him for a total of 22 years and being married officially for 12 years and 10 years into our marriage I began questioning myself. Not that i didn't love him but i felt i needed more especially growth. It seemed like our ideas drifted apart, he was contented where he was but i was looking for more. It made me bitter and i started asking who i was was. Marriage is not easy, both parties have to accept change and most especially communication at every step of the way. Yeah i am still in my marriage taking 1 day at a time and loving myself more. My husband has promised to be better and I have decided to give give him that chance because i believe in chances. What most men do not understand is that a woman cannot just walk out of her marriage overnight, she has thought about it for years and she has poured out her heart to husband in many different ways but they don't seem to see it

@Neddie2k you see your comment, this is an example of judging a book by its cover. You don't know my struggles and you don't what I bring to the table in this marriage. If I married expecting fairy tales, there is nothing wrong with it as long as that fairy tale was to be with the person I cherished and was also willing to share the bills with in order to reduce the burden and make life easy for all of us. Do you know how tiring it is to be with someone who does not want to grow? I am not asking to change my husband because you cannot change a person but I am asking him to adapt to the changes in life. I support my husband in everything even without him asking because I feel we are one, I bring business ideas and he does not want to engage in, always saying he will think about it. I don't ask him for anything but I do give him gifts and it will take me to talk to him to appreciate me before he will do it. My father passed away, my husband did not give me any money as his contribution towards the funeral and recently he wanted to travel for his mother's Thanksgiving ceremony, I gave him my money as my contribution. Your comment is so blank and I bet you are a man. A woman who has spent years with a man does not just wake up and walk out of her marriage. She has observed, given you chances and has also talked to you about it

So proud of you Sister Dela, I have always known you are going to do great things and my hope as you walk through this journey of life it will bring you. back on another level with Jesus and your relationship with Jehovah our Precious Father. He is the only one who can fill that void you spoke about. We should be His bride first before we can be a bride to any man that has a true progressive reflection of who our Lord Jesus Christ is. Your doing Well Sis, keep going, staying true to yourself. Your test will be a testimony and your mess a message that many will learn from and take courage to walk in their own truth and make decisions that may be difficult but will strengthen their resolve to take that step to be heard,...... to be counted. I say this as I have a story too, maybe not like yours, but it is a story nevertheless that needs to be told in Gods perfect timing. I am praying that at the end of all this, there will many joyous and victorious years ahead. God bless you and your familly. Many of us are rooting for your successes. Amen 🙏🙏❤

@@gb6041 for the very fact that Dela is willing to put herself out there and tell her story is a testimony in itself. Many do not have the courage to do so. Many shroud their pain in secrecy. Divorce is not a testimony but how your position yourself and rise above the pain of divorce because the testimony. When I referred to Dela doing great things, I talking about her divorce but more so her approach to trauma of divorce. I am a product of divorced parents and it was horrific for me and watching mother become a shadow of her former self within the marriage then coming out and rushing into a second one that was worse than the first. So I know what I am talking about. I wish my mother had taken the step to find herself and discover herself before even thinking of remarriage. Now she is sad elderly lady who failed at both marriages due to poor choices and giving herself time to find herself grow and evolve. This is what I applaud Dela for. Once you know thyself, you able to make wiser more informed choice. You will be able to know what will work for you and with you and even more so when Jesus is at the centre of all that you do. God bless you

1:14 - Dela is being vulnerable sharing her experience and the interviewer is asking her to list 20 good things the man did?? It's clear that the trauma is deep. Why not empathize rather than try to turn her into finding good in the man that hurt her. This is an example of men not listening to women when they experience pain. Why is he saying she is focusing on 1 or 2 bad things. I am already annoyed by this interviewer.

Marriage is not easy because two imperfect and often unaware of their own traumas get together and when you bring kids and extended family into the mix things can get pretty difficult. My husband and I met when we both moved to Ghana years ago and made the decision to move back to Europe when we had our first child. We both knew that adding the financial stress of living in Ghana to our fresh marriage wouldn’t have been smart. There are two roles that society has failed to prepare us for and the first one is the role of a spouse. The second one is that of a parent. You did the best you could with the tools you were given.

The interviewer needs to understand that yes a person can do a million good things but one bad thing erases the million things because the bad thing is so destructive to the person it's done to. A person who has been an upstanding citizen suddenly commits a crime. He's going to jail regardless if he was an upstanding citizen. That's how the world works. A woman with 4 children building s house in a country where she's been away from.is not easy..if it was a good marriage she wouldn't have left. Some woman left that interviewer and he's projecting his hurt unto Dela. He's like most men who don't understand why women leave them.

What precepts, what principles....did they undergo counseling before marriage to make sure they were compatible and understood and accepted each other's strengths, weaknesses, pet peeves, love language, and were clear on what they needed from each other to feel safe, protected, heard, and respected. Finally, did they understand that marriage is a sacred covenant which shouldn't be entered into lightly? Couples should do the work prior to marriage so they understand what they need to do in order to maintain the relationship.

Seen a wide range of comments. Bottom line: marriage isn’t easy and was never meant to be between two people😂 Three people: Christ is the third person😊. For Christians, you have to seek lots of counselling from church, or embark on training courses together. You need to both be willing to invest time and money in to courses such as “The Marriage Course” to make marriage work. Often people think marriage is cheap- no, it requires on-going maintenance and sharing with other couples in a trusted community who will be there for one another without gossiping or belittling the other. In short, it takes more than two to have a healthy marriage. Also, cultural differences and whenever a couple move from one terrain to another can rock a marriage if you already have challenges you haven’t resolved.
