did you use a 138 with built in reduction, and then a final 2:1 reduction on the chain? I'm trying to figure out if I should get the 138 with or without the reduction box for a mini ATV build that will go straight to the rear aprox 44 t sprocket. since we are not going for high speed, I figured the gear box would be better for more low end torque.
I already made a bike with a hubmotor and sabvoton controller 72v 35ah battery, top speed 110km/h but I want to make a cross motorbike with a qs138 90h and a votol controller, I'm thinking about a 20s 72v 90ah battery
@@zalotech4275 Yeah that's true! Did you ever noticed if when it's humid outside or during a rain if the motor sound different? It hapenned with every single Zero 75-7R motor i have used.. it seem the Sin/Cos encoder just dont like humidity and seem to offset the angle a bit and shift the powerband..
@@Doctorbasss That's right, the amplitude of the encoder signal is in the 1V range, so the influence of moisture is noticeable, the way the cable is routed is very important.
Hi sir !! I am On way to build a cafe racer around 150kg without motor kit .. pls suggest me whether to go for qs 138 4000w or Golden motor 10kw ?? Which motor is more powerful and durable in real world?? Since the bike will be heavy (-180kg) , which motor will perform best??
Ciekawy projekt, bardzo cicho chodzi ten napęd. Na początku nie widziałem przekładni z prawej strony bo na wideo była zakryta, czyli co niecałe 200Nm jest na kole. Jeśli mniej więcej te przełożenie to 1:~6,5. Fajnie ale widzę podobny problem który mam obecnie w napędzie rowerowym - Brak naciągu łańcucha pośredniego. Chyba że go nie widać Podoba mi się wygląda fabrycznie
@@Jacob-ui6br he's pushing 420 phase amps not busbar amps, you would blow the controller if you pushed 420A through the busbar. I don't like when ppl say this stuff to try and make their bike seem more powerful than it is, or at least when they don't specify. He is probably pushing 200A, maybe 250A through the busbar and the with field weakening gets 420 phase amps.
@@vincentpernicano3277 aah ok, thank you for specifying! i was always confused with what the difference between battery amps and phase amps is, and all that stuff Field weakening sounds pretty awesome, is it available on all speed controllers?
Nice video man, been following the build for awhile, In the process of building up a kx250f myself, got a sevcon gen 4 controller but can't figure out how to program it for the life of me, any tips?
@@zalotech4275 Hey if you did a non edited blog and dropped the link in endless sphere I and probably some other guys would chuck you a couple bucks for saving us! Understand if you don't got the time though, great build once again!
My friend, I followed your thread on this bike build, I have the same KX frame ready for swap. I'd love to know more about the belt drive and gear reduction feature. I will have the same battery configuration with 24s16p, considering the qs138 or me1507.
I have already tested variants and the best option for the mx bike is a 1: 2 ratio on the first reduction. I am a very big fan of the qs 138 motor because of the power density it offers.
@@hugok87 It's a custom gearbox or jackshaft, you can see the cover on the right side of the bike and the sprocket driving the chain on the left side. Slow the beginning of the video down and use full screen to see it better.
@@fpvlee1586 do you recommend going the sevcon route for starters? How about the stock controller often sold with the qs138, could i pull 400A with one of those?
