Hi there, I was using tinsel to bag a cod which I did, however it was deep hooked somehow so I ended up using that as bait bits. The bait of choice is saury or bluey as we know is here.

Nicholas Sparkes Thank you for your kind comments, It’s certainly worth taking a 3 day trip for. Although we did the ring road over 2 weeks on this trip.

steve quinn it’s the Viðey Ferry Terminal, Reykjavík, Iceland. There’s a spot to get bait around the corner

@colinmiddleton6122
@colinmiddleton6122 6 лет назад
Hi there Alessandro the rod is a Shimano Exage BX STC 9ft 50-100g Travel rod. fantastic all rounder for traveling and fits nicely in your luggage
@alessandrotrezzi1125
@alessandrotrezzi1125 6 лет назад
thank you very much! you think that the 14-40g is too light for iceland? i might also go there this summer and i might try to fish also in fresh waters (not salmons ahah)
@colinmiddleton6122
@colinmiddleton6122 6 лет назад
Alessandro Trezzi the problem is you don't know what you will hook into so you need a good bit of power 'just in case'

Dear fisherman. The first place you was fishing on brigde - what kind of fish you can catch in there? I'm living not far that place. For me its getting boring catch just cod and places. I'm trying to fing other kind of fish like big wolffish...

I'm lucky enough to have moved to Reykjavík this year but where the hell can I buy bait, I've had no luck finding any so far!
@TonySaunders

@Rap Charts I've been there but they only sell basic rods and a few spinners, I didn't see any bait for sale. But no problem as I've decided to stick to lure fishing for cod now and I'll be stocking up on gear when I pop back over to the UK for a few days. Cheers anyway 👍

best bait by far is the mackerel you can buy it in fiskikongurinn or just catch one in the nearest port :)
@javierescuella5804
@javierescuella5804 4 года назад
Tony Saunders go to your local bónus and buy something called “Reykt Síld” it’s the best bait I’ve ever used just remember to hook the piece of herring through the skin first and the meat second

Nice video, but it´s be very nice if you could not grab into a fish´s gills when you want to realease him anyway. And throwing a fish into the water might harm his organs, especially it´s sideline sensors..without them, a fish has a hard time to find food. Just saying. Going to Iceland in a couple of weeks & it´d be nice to catch a little something.
