Your fingertips across my skin The palm trees swaying in the wind Images You sang me Spanish lullabies The sweetest sadness in your eyes Clever trick Well, I never want to see you unhappy I thought you'd want the same for me Goodbye, my almost lover Goodbye, my hopeless dream I'm trying not to think about you Can't you just let me be? So long, my luckless romance My back is turned on you Should've known you'd bring me heartache Almost lovers always do We walked along a crowded street You took my hand and danced with me Images And when you left, you kissed my lips You told me you would never, never forget These images Well, I'd never want to see you unhappy I thought you'd want the same for me Goodbye, my almost lover Goodbye, my hopeless dream I'm trying not to think about you Can't you just let me be? So long, my luckless romance My back is turned on you Should've known you'd bring me heartache Almost lovers always do I cannot go to the ocean I cannot drive the streets at night I cannot wake up in the morning Without you on my mind So you're gone and I'm haunted And I bet you are just fine Did I make it that easy to walk right in and out Of my life? Goodbye, my almost lover Goodbye, my hopeless dream I'm trying not to think about you Can't you just let me be? So long, my luckless romance My back is turned on you Should've known you'd bring me heartache Almost lovers always do
I stumbled upon her maybe 8 - 10 years ago... I think that the original perfectly conveys a sense of loss, hurt, angst, grief, and confusion; while this version projects resignation and acceptance and readiness to move on. Both very different.., I'm leaning toward the original, though. Her voice is a most amazing and effective instrument, and it doesn't hurt that she's so cute!

@@bobgilbert5117 couldn't agree more. Thanks for answering. Cheers :)
I totally love a fine frenzy, and I love "Almost Lover." I honestly think the song was one of the most amazing songs ever, WITHOUT being remixed. The remix is great though, for radio, television etc. But I must say, the original is much more hauntingly beautiful, because it's much slower, quieter, and more raw. It's leaving the song at true bare emotion.
Find this song lyrics in back of my college book, almost forget how this song have a special meaning in my life. But still I can't get over him untill now
I remember finding A Fine Frenzy when I was in highschool, I always loved it. Lately I've been hearing some of the songs in my head and had to go find it again, sounds even better than I remembered!
This version is kind of just like another song. The original was like a moving song that was like emotional. This one kind of just blends in with other slow sad songs. Does that make any sense to anyone but me? haha
I do miss the part in the video at 3:17 where she sings, "Do I make it that easy to walk right in & out of my life?" Dammit, Bastard!! Just draws tears in my eyes @ that part!
Something about your performance of these songs that is incredible! Was I stupid for tying this song to a relationship ending? It honestly doesn’t matter either….
