Congratulations! You brought the Model T back to life and it runs beautifully. It's amazing to see today what rather primitive technology from back in the day can do. Great job once again, the Model T is looking great. Roof, seats and floor and you are good to go, looking forward to that one (just beware of the termites :-)

Thank you for these videos! I found your channel a few days ago and have been fascinated. I started clapping when the engine started. I love the format - no talk, just do. I'm more of a visual learner and I've learned SO MUCH about a T watching you work your magic. I've considered buying and restoring one for a while and your videos have given me confidence that it's possible. Thanks again!

very nice job. This engine is running nicely! To make a cold start, adjust the mixture to "rich" (don't overturn) Advance lever "up" Short "choke" while using the starter-motor. Once the engine is running for a few minutes, adjust the mixture (and not immediately the advance). That's what my Pa told me (a very long time ago)

Good job. Craftsman. One of my brothers owned a Model T. I was pretty small in early 40's, he was driving very slow and my other brother and I wer piled into and on the T. I was standing on one running board and thought I could run that fast. Jumped to the ground and momentum almost taught me a lesson when my feet hit the ground and then my head hit the ground shortly thereafter. Didn't learn anything, because I tried it again 20 years later while inebriated and almost died from the concussion.

There is a certain rhythmic sound quality with respect to the model T's engine running that is music-to-my-ears. When it is tuned as Henry Ford designed it, it becomes like a beautifully played musical instrument. Thank You for sharing the experience. Greetings from Ontario, Canada.

Random thoughts on your magnificent restoration -- nowadays the Model T is a metaphor for simplicity but there was nothing simple about it. The sophistication needed to design and build this car a hundred years ago bowls me over. Also knocked out by the quality of the original build in terms of engineering, sizing of parts, durability, etc. I am learning from your perseverance and ability to easily show us you got something wrong the first time. The car must be a complete pain in the butt at times but I can't even begin to imagine the satisfaction you are getting in making it all work. Finally, I know this is a silent build but while others have waited to hear it run, I am waiting to hear the horn.

Having been around Model T's my entire life (took my drivers test in a 1921 Model T Roadster in 1992 at age 16), I have to admit I was worried when I saw your first video. Many times I've seen folks 'get into Model T's' only to be daunted by how unfamiliar they are with them. It isn't that they are complex, they're just different from modern cars in a very simplified way. However, you stuck with it and got her running. And not just running using modern parts (lawnmower carb and distributor swap), but using the coils / timer and magneto as well! Well done sir! Subscribed!

The air intake was sometimes converted to a snorkle. The roads in those days would often flood and river and creek crossings where simple stoned pavers that would not wash away as the washes where sometimes quite shallow but in a rainy period the snorkle was essential to keep the water out of the engine...

Wow! I wish I had the time and space to have such a project. My current "play pretty" is a 1955 Imperial Newport Coupe. All original, 73k miles. Full power, factory A/C, original factory option Kelsey Hayes wire wheels. Engine's never been opened, original paint and interior. Several non-visible modifications -- 6-volt electric fuel pump to prime the carburetor bowls, an Interstate 6/12 battery system -- 2 6-volt batteries for normal running and so the original 6-volte generator can charge it; to crank, a solenoid closes to put all 6 cells in series giving 12-volt power for the coil and starter motor. The Imperial Owner's Club went to a sheet metal fabricator to make a factory duplicate air filter, except instead of the original messy oil bath air cleaner, it takes a pleated paper round filter. Looks all the same from the top, and you don't see the paper filter until you remove the wingnut on the top and remove the top plate.

I am interested in old cars, including Model T's, and this video let me see the parts and how they fit together. It is surprising how basic cars were in the 1920s. But driving a Model T would be something one would have to practice.....even though I know how to drive stick shift the Model T is not quite like that.
