For many clients, expressing anger can feel overwhelming, shameful, or even downright scary.
Problem is (and as I know you know), when a client takes great pains to avoid anger, it often just leads to bigger problems.
So how might we resource clients with skills that can help them respond to and manage their anger more productively?
Well, have a look at the video below - Ron Siegel, PsyD, walks through four key steps to get you started.

I don’t understand the forgiveness part. We don’t have to justify, condone or reconcile, but we need to forgive and feel our anger. Feeling anger has never lead me to forgiveness, and after watching the video I still don’t know what would.

Mindfulness creates metacognition. But once you’re thinking about your thinking, you’re (by definition) no longer being mindful. ✌🏼In other words, mindfulness is essential, but not something to get stuck in. Metacognition requires detachment from your senses - the exact opposite of mindfulness. Bottom line: both good. 😁
