Be shore ( a pun for sure ) to visit the Hopewell Rocks down Alma way and walk on the ocean floor!. A beautiful place especially in the fall. Enjoy the drove down into NB from Quebec! The colours of the St. John RIver Valley in the fall are nothing but breath taking. You may even get inspirations for new colourways!

Lots of great yarn stores along your route. Peggy's Cove is a definite stop in NS. Enjoy your travels!!

Wonderful to see the three of you and hear about your travels and fiber adventures! The yarns you all showed are fantastic and so beautiful. Wonderful tour of Winterberries. James. Have a super time at the Men's Retreat and a fun trip to my home state, Connecticut. We have a local yarn shop here in New Haven. Knit New Haven! Best wishes to all for more happy travels!

Hello Jamie and Christopher, I live in Laval Qc and I just came back yesterday from a trip to the Maritimes. As I'm doing the washing/folding/putting everything away, I just watched your podcast. Such a joy to be able to do chores while watching something (and someones) pleasant and oh so interesting. We ran away from Fiona and made it home safely although driving back was sometimes rather intense in all that rain and wind. I had made a deal with my man before leaving home. It was that whenever there was a yarn store in a place we stopped, I was allowed to go and shop there, which was great. I brought back bags, and bags of yarn. Thank goodness for Subarus! To answer your question, I have a suggestion. I would recommend strongly to stop in St-Alexandre-de-Kamouraska, which is just 20 min off the Trans-Canada Highway. You need to visit the Ferme Fibre et Cie (Les Alpagas d'Aldo). It's a small family owned farm where they raise alpagas whose fibres are sold on location. You can see all the wonderful animals and talk with the friendly owners who will answer all of your questions. I had the chance to stay overnight in 2020 on my way to the Iles de la Madeleine on a RV trip and I got to park and sleep right next to the place where the alpacas were....heaven !! If you don't have time to visit on your way up to PEI, maybe take a few hours to do it on your way back, if you're not too exhausted, that is. You'll be driving through that part anyway and it would give you a break from all that driving. I am sooo envious of you going to PEI for their fibre festival! I have had the pleasure of seeing you in Mtl at KnitCity and in St-André-Avellin at Twist but since I'll be attending ''Le Festival de la P'tite Laine" in Rivière-du-Loup on Oct 1-2, I thought it would be too much to ask of my man to drag him also to PEI. I know he loves me, but let's not tempt fate! I wish you the best time there, and considering the present weather, a safe stay and travel back.

Another wonderful podcast. I am just so sorry I will miss you in PEI this weekend. We were planning to stay in our truck camper at a campground just near Charlottetown, but Fiona has quashed our plans. Sadly, hurricane camping isn’t my cup of tea right now. I will miss your talk on natural dyeing, and acquiring many fibre treasures at the marketplace. Thankfully, I still have your podcasts to enjoy. Stay safe And if you’re still looking for places to go in the maritimes, I have a cottage in northern NB, just off the main highway that is vacant. 😂

Just watched this episode and was touched by your enthusiasm for your upcoming trip. Oh My! I have been thinking of you and all the vendors and organizers of the PEI fibre festival. I hope that all the crafters who were planning to attend make a point of supporting the vendors who worked so hard to build up their stock and travel to the event. Hope to see you another time.

This was a lot of fun to watch. Great stories from James and I learned a few things too. I am becoming envious of people getting out to yarn festivals. I haven't had the chance yet. :( It's a given that you have to go to Fleece & Harmony and Belfast Mini Mills. My brother recently moved to PEI and his daughter had a picture standing at a huge cow statue. That might be fun to see. Magnetic Hill in Moncton is a good spot to visit.

Enjoy a farmers stall, try locally made food items..whether it is cheese or pastries. Listen to the sounds, smell the air, enjoy the changes of colours, the rock formations. Have a great trip.

Hello Christopher & Jamie! Can't wait to hear your presentation on Friday in Charlottetown. I heard you might be interested in going to Anne Of Green Gables in Cavendish...there you'll find "Lover's Lane" and "The Haunted Woods" trails. A beautiful walk through the woods if the weather is nice. "Blue Mussel Cafe" in North Rustico is just a hop, skip and a jump away from Cavendish (4-minute drive). Great food and atmosphere. You can watch eagles, herons and osprey dive for fish along the North Rustico boardwalk. N Rustico is a super cute and colourful fishing village. You could pop into the Rustico Bay Wool Sweater Co while you're there too and Knit Pickers is also very close by. Happy travels and we'll see you soon!!

Hello my Cabin Boys! It was wonderful to see you in my neck of the woods, Kitchener, and to see what you all purchased at the KW yarn festival. I attended and also made some lovely purchases! Safe travels to PEI. I’ve never been to PEI but if I were to go, I would definitely want to see the Hopewell Rocks, but watch out for high tide! In Nova Scotia, I enjoyed visiting Lunenburg and Peggy’s Cove. N’oubliez pas de déguster une délicieuse chaudrée de homard et und soupe aux fruits de mer pendant que vous y êtes. Bon voyage!

Loved your visit footage of Winterberries, what a treasure of a find. Also love James' stories, and his accent and many languages. Would love to get to PEI again. Was there in 2017. That's when I stumbled upon Fleece and Harmony wool. I bought a skein of an Aran colorway called 'Gale' that was being sold at the gift shop at Point Prim lighthouse near Belfast. I regret I never checked out the farm and Fleece And Harmony store (in Belfast), was just getting back into knitting at the time. Kim from F&H does a lovely Podcast. Near the lighthouse is the Point Prim Chowder House. If you want to check out less populated beaches in PEI, Argyle shore Provincial Park has a huge walk out in the bright red sand at low tide. This is between Charlottetown and the Confederation bridge.....and finally, loved Georgetown at mouth of Brudenell Harbour. Another lovely restaurant for Seafood is Wheelhouse in Georgetown, and the Brudenell Provincial park has a place to rent Kayaks for a tour through the harbour, and you can get a guide who will tell you about the Acadian history in that area. Roma at 3 rivers is an Acadian Village historic site nearby. If low tide you may see starfish. Hopefully it's still open while you are there. Enjoy PEI and the festival!!!!

You just have to go to the eastern point lighthouse to see where tides meet. Also go to basin head provincial park to visit the singing sands. Visiting the home of green gables was fun after seeking the play in Charlottetown . You have to do the fleece trail and go to the Fleece and harmony mill and shop. Enjoy. Cindy

My favourite yarns are from Woolworks in Mahone Bay, hand dyed by Hiedi Wulfraat and Fleece and Harmony in Belfast, PEI. Was hoping to see you two at the PEI Fibre Fest this weekend but Hurricane Fiona may cause a problem. If you are looking for charming yarn shops on your trip to PEI, la Violette in Bouctouche is a gem, in PEI, if you have time to tour after the festival, Belfast Mini Mills in Belfast is delightful, and in Nova Scotia, The Mariners Daughter in Lunenburg, Have a Yarn in Mahone Bay ( sadly she is liquidating as she wishes to retire and hasn’t found a buyer). My personal fave Gaspereau Valley Fibres in Gaspereau, near Wolfville, it’s a working farm and the shop is an old service station with jaw dropping hand hewn beams and a shop cat aptly named Mittens.

You must visit Shediac New Brunswick, a very quaint little town 20 minutes away from Moncton. It has a beautiful beach area ( Pearly Beach) and when I live there in there in 1990 it was famous for being the lobster capital of the world. Although I think a lot of east coast towns have that claim. Lol.

I have not been to PEI, but if I were going I would try to be there when Arne and Carlos are in Charlottetown in November. I just don't yet have the grit it takes to travel again, even though it would not be a long trip from Ottawa. I think I would check out Belfast Mini Mill if it isn't too far out. If you are in Nova Scotia (I think Jamie said something about Nouvelle Ecosse?) Lunenburg is a lovely spot - it's the home of Suttles and Seawinds, which used to be an excellent place to get well-made fashions and quilts, but has branched out and sells all sorts of things now that the original designer retired. If I ever get back there I will check out Chocolate River Yarns and Fibres in Upper Lahave. They have Henry's Attic undyed fibre of all kinds that they sell by the gram. And they sell the dyes - acid and natural extracts, too.
