Amazing video. Thank you so much for taking use all along in your adventures. Be safe and as always, Have fun... 🤠 🤔By the way, I have to ask, How much wait have you gained in all of your travels? All of the foods you have been putting away look really good. 😋😋😁
Haha, none! I get this question a lot. Actually, I'm usually down one or two kilograms when I come back from the US (stress probably) and they're quickly gained back with Mommatastic's food 😇) When in the US, I keep the same weight as I balance my meals. I don't show everything that I eat on videos, the ones that appear are usually not that healthy and they don't represent the majority of my meals. I also walk a lot during my travels and try to work out whenever possible. The goal is to stay healthy to explore as much as possible 😁
I was thinking that too. You’ve gotten quite “Americanized” with the yummy food items we eat. The only thing that hasn’t been Americanized is developing that… American Tummy! Some places you don’t need to look too far for examples.
Hey Marie. Please don't think I object at all to your voice and voiceovers, but I really appreciate how you mostly let the videos and captions speak for you. Not sure what it is, but maybe it's just easier to focus on the visual input when the auditory input is mostly just music. Again, not trying to discourage you from talking, but I think the amount of your talking in the videos is just the right amount. It kind of gives the sense that we're joining you in a companionable and comfortable silence while we see the sights together.
I’m so happy you got to visit my home state; CT isn’t high on the list of places in the US for international tourists to visit but there’s plenty to see here. I’m glad you enjoyed your time here!
Marie, it's so awesome seeing you finding all the wildlife around you and pointing it out. So many people don't take the time to see it, and it's something that I feel makes any adventure more memorable. I cringed a bit when you mentioned that you had things happen to you. The downside of nonstop adventure is both physical and mental fatigue, and with fatigue the possibility of injury or illness increases. Luckily, you're still young so it's less likely to happen, but it's still something to be aware of. I know when it comes to me and my adventures, I go all out and expend all of my energy and end up having to recuperate at work!🤣 Congratulations on your new shirt! You know you've officially "made it" when you have your own merch line! 😃 I look forward to seeing that last bit of your time here in the States! Take care and keep smiling!
I always want to say so many things after your videos! They are so good. You get the best camera shots, in interesting places and edit it all so beautifully. Thank You.🥞
Your taste in travel options and locations makes you a superb videographer. It may not be your prime objective, but I wonder if you realize how tremendous a service your adventures provide. All the wonder you've experienced, the memories you've made and recorded, the monumental joy you've shared, cannot be calculated. You've shown the people of the world, even the people of their own country, so much of what they may never be able to see themselves. I hope you know the extraordinary value of what you do. Priceless. And you're not close to done yet! 👍❤
Marie, thanks for adding your beauty to our beautiful country!! You were here on my birthday 6/16 and you didn't come wish me happy birthday in upstate New York. 😞 I know that you would like the area, I'm 20 minutes South of the Adirondack Mountains Park, which is huge with many lakes and trails. A lot of history, especially in my area about the Civil War. Right now the leaves are changing colors and it really beautiful!! Oh...we also have Mustangs. Lol 🌹
That looks like a CSX6000 - 427 S/C Cobra. A modern continuation by Shelby of America (since 1997) of the classic British AC Shelby Cobras (Ford engine). The original Shelby Cobras were produced in Los Angeles from 1961 to 1968, and a total of 998 were built.
My 6-year old son spotted an original 427 Cobra in a town near us popular with the rich and famous. Talked to the owner. Only 330 or so were made. Worth at least a cool million. Carroll Shelby made 2 personal ones. Gave one to his friend who, of course, wrecked it. Carroll’s recently sold for $6 million I think. It’s crazy. 427 w/twin superchargers. 800 hp in late 60’s. 😂😂
Very few AC Cobras were 427. The vast majority were the mark 1 and mark 2 with the 289 engine, which were substantially different chassis from the mark 3 used for the 427 (Only about 100 were the 427 "competition" model and half of those were converted to street legal and sold as "S/C".). AC also sold some 289 variants in Europe, but they were not finished by Shelby American.
Kansas Grandpa Checking in. I'm glad you had a chance to rest and recuperate. Most Americans that have been to France were sent there with a Rifle. I am an old U.S. Army Veteran. I had a chance to go to Europe while I was in the Army but I declined. It's fun to watch you discover the U.S. ... Big Place isn't it. ... Your English is good enough now that I should send you my books. I'm a fiction writer with 4 books published. I think I'll send them to you. One is a Christmas Story. Perhaps I'll send that first. They are all less than 200 pages so they are quick to read. Good stories all. When you're home and it's raining some night, that would be a good night for a storybook from your Kansas Grandpa. The Christmas Story is called 'Murphy, The Prince & The Deer Who Could Fly' I think I'll also send the most recent, 'When All The Pieces Come Together. It involves Native Americans on a secluded lake in Northern Wisconsin. It will remind you of your time in Minnesota. Minnesota and Wisconsin are very much alike. ... Yes, I think I'll do that. You live a pretty busy life. You might not have time to read them until you are very old. But If I send them, You will at least have them when you are wanting a good story. Be well Marie... Love, Kansas Grandpa..
Thank you for your service. However let’s keep this real! Most Americans that have been to France is tourist and not military, as an example. Last year alone there was over 5 million Americans who have visit France as tourist. There is no American garrison or military stationed in France. Even during WW2, there was about 1.5 US military send to all of Europe. Let’s stick to fact and leave fiction for your book
@@mracer8it really depends on where you grow up. My dad’s family grew up poor and literally the only people he knew who’d been to Europe or Asia went courtesy of the US Armed Forces. If you’re talking absolute numbers - sure, most people go as tourists. But they’ve got money, and there’s a lot of America that doesn’t have that. Especially up until about twenty five years ago, it was really not something most folks could afford. For them, the folks who went abroad were soldiers and sailors. Let’s not forget them.
Connecticut is so pretty! Lots of people don't even know about it. I have cousins whose families have lived in Connecticut ever since our ancestors came to the US from Italy and Ireland, in the 19th century. Why move away?!? It's a beautiful place. And, New Haven has some of the best pizza in the whole country.
As far as being exhausted from travelling, I don't know how you do it. When my wife and I go on the road, about ten days is all we can do then we are ready to be home. And that's in our own country, where everything is familiar.
When in America, if the temperature is beautiful, the bugs think so too. That is more true in the summer and fall. In the spring, colder climes sometimes get a few weeks of reprieve before summer starts. Peace, Love!!
Bonjour Marie! You look great and having a good time, so it's surprising to hear you were having some issues, but if you think about all the traveling and stuff you were doing it shouldn't be so surprising. Please be sure to take care of yourself first and foremost. If you need to take a break from traveling and making videos, we'll understand. Hope you and Mommatastic are doing well! Bonne journee! ~Be Blessed
The video was perfectly made. Loved everything about it. Your eye for the beauty of nature really shows. You even find the little things, like the fluorescent colored caterpillar on your shoe. Also, finding the live snail was pretty awesome. You have a good eye for cool cars. The Shelby Cobra, and the Chevy Nova SS are beautiful. Especially the Cobra. Keep up the good work.❤😊 Also, I think having a blooper video is a great idea. I think it would be pretty fun. I think we can all relate to having mishaps. Especially when we're exhausted. And it's always fun to look back and laugh at things afterwards.😂
I love when you visit places near and familiar to me. It's always interesting to see places with which I'm familiar through the eyes of someone perhaps seeing them for the first time. Thank you for sharing.
That path you were on after you showed Rein’s goes right behind my house. And as someone who lives near all the things you were able to see, I can say you made all the right choices. Also, try real maple syrup. Make sure it’s warmed up. You’ll never want the store bought stuff again. I’m really enjoying watching all your adventures!
I see You spent some time in Manchester, and living here since 1993, I don't quite know where some of this footage was taken. I do know that Rein's Deli is famous for their pastrami and swiss on rye. You must have had a fantastic time at The Cape. This is a huge vacation area for people here in the Northeast.
Great video with excellent editing and music choices. Nicely done. It's really cool for a guy from Southern New England who loves France to see a French gal loving where I come from.
Another end to an exciting chapter! Looking forward to the next video in Cape Cod! Thank you for all your tireless effort and hard work. Cheers! 🍻🌞✈️🌎🇺🇸
The Soapstone Mountain fire tower(Shenipsit) is where we used to party at night as teenagers, but more importantly, it’s where I proposed to my wife 22 years ago. We carved our names into a picnic table right at the spot where you had to be standing when you zoomed in on that house off in the distance. It is, indeed a small world
I live in Pennsylvania with relatives in Massachusetts and whenever I make the drive there we always stop at Rein's one of the best delis in the country.
@@John572d4 From Philly area depends on traffic. NJ Turnpike to GW Bridge to Merritt PW or 287 to 84 Cuomo Bridge up to Mass Pike. More direct than hugging the coast.
Enjoyed this video, it came up randomly. Your take on things is refreshing. I just got back from a couple weeks in your country Marie, mostly in the Beaune, Dijon area, but then also in Bordeaux, travelling around the countryside. Very lovely, though as you know France has been quite cool and wet this year. The Northwest area of the US is worth exploring some time! The best to you :)
I have a place to Recommend to you its hocking hills state park in ohio. Its not at all what you would think of as ohio. I live in this area. There are caves log cabins lakes amazing food. And nice people. I also recommend going to athens it is about a 30ish or less minute drive from hocking hills. This is a place that is not really know of by people outside of ohio. Its amazing.
Glad to see you relaxing in northeast Connecticut. So many places you've shown are familiar. Pickles are easy to make if they're scarce in France. Thumbs up for Switchback ale.
When I saw IHOP, I was reminded of a joke from a stand-up comedian. He saw a sign in a diner window which read, 'Breakfast Anytime'. So he went inside and ordered French Toast during The Revolution. At home, I always make my French toast the proper way; with a nice baguette bread sliced on a bias (angle), with a little vanilla and cinnamon. C'est si bon!
Marie, you are extremely talented. If it were up to me, I would give you the BFA from USC and the MFA from AFI right now. I would watch you TV show or films for sure. For now this channel is a gift. Thank you!
If you ever want to mentally recapture how the local Connecticut forests and lakes look, in the summer, you could try streaming the movie Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)! It was filmed in Kent and New Preston, Connecticut, in the summer of 1980. Most of the movie is filmed in daylight, so it isn't really very scary. Mystic Pizza is another good Connecticut movie, and also Another Earth, starring Brit Marling. The movie Tell-Tale (2009) was filmed in Rhode Island, by the way. I'm not sure if you got to visit there, but it's also very pretty. Tell-Tale starred Lena Headey and Josh Lucas, you should be able to find it, knowing that. Sorry, I'm telling you about scary movies... it's almost Halloween, I can't help it.
Hey! So you already saw the Shelby Cobra! When you order yours, I highly recommend you get the 289 or 302 V-8 engine. The bigger engines, like the 427 or 428, are just too much power for long-driving safety. The smaller V-8’s are plenty powerful enough and way more fun to safely zoom around.
I remember in the 70's as a kid, IHOP was "Internatioanl House of Pancakes" ...and the restaurants then looked like a big Dutch red barn.......OH it was heaven to a hungry boy
@Marie That is a nice looking red Shelby Cobra. Fun Fact: There are far more Shelby Cobras in existence today than Carroll Shelby's company ever built due to the prolific amount now of companies that either build clones of the originals, or companies that sell kits you can put together yourself.
I see you liked the Factory Five Shelby Cobra. They come in a kit and you get to customize them. I always enjoy seeing your videos. You probably left before autumn, it is beautiful to see the leaves change color. The Northern tier of states have the best fall colors.
Might be a Factory Five but the ones built here are from a racing team that started after a friendship with Carroll himself. Modern upgrades, of course, but most were ok’d by the man himself. So these are as close to a real Shelby as you can get. 289 Roadster all the way up to a competition 427. Fun place to visit and dream….😬
TYPO CORRECTED: This was great and very entertaining and informative, just like all of your videos. I am signing up for your patreon. I know a lot of us would love to see you in Chicago, and going to the great museums and restaurants (also including but not limited to local dishes like deep dish pizza, Italian beef sandwiches (dipped with sweet peppers), hibarito sandwiches, Garret's cheese and caramel popcorn mix, Maxwell Street Polish sandwiches, great Mexican food (Chicago is over 20% Mexican descent), and Chicago hot dogs and barbequed ribs (I suggest Portillo's, with some great chocolate cake for dessert.). The Art Institute has a great world class collection of French impressionists (don't miss the Thorne miniature rooms, which include period French interiors); the Museum of Science and Industry has the only existing captured German WWII submarine and enigma machine, which you can tour inside; The Field Museum of Natural history has the world's most complete T-Rex skeleton; the Shedd Aquarium is incredible; the Adler Planetarium has great exhibits and a great sky show; the Chicago River architectural boat tour should not be missed (skyscrapers were invented here); the world's largest (5 story) Starbucks is worth checking out; The suburban Brookfield Zoo is the second largest Zoo other than San Diego; and the beaches (fresh unsalted water) are great. Also visit the massive and amazing Morton Arboretum in the suburb of Lisle (take a great tram ride tour), which has trees from around the world, and have dinner at the nearby Greek Islands very authentic Greek restaurant (and get some local favorite Saganaki flaming cheese).

Another very enjoyable video Marie. Be careful with our American food. It is very addictive and you may actually put on a pound or two. I do hope that your passion for my country always remains. I did notice that you referred to them as fireflies which is of course very common. In some parts of the states we refer to them as Lightning bugs. I live in New York. I look forward to more videos.
IHop? I'm sorry, you couldn't pay me to go there. Let's forget about that, I'm just glad you are having such a good time exploring the USA. That makes me feel good. And feeling good, is good enough.
I hope you try biscuits with white gravy sometime. White gravy is sometimes called Country gravy. And white gravy can have sausage in it. Biscuits with white gravy is some of the best food in the World. bon appétit
It's too bad you skipped over Rhode Island in your visit to New England. While it is a small state, it is packed with many interesting things to see and do. Maybe next time you come this way, you can enjoy Misquamicut Beach in Westerly, which is right on the CT/RI border. I'm sure you would love it here. And, of course, everyone loves to see the mansions of Newport, RI. I'm so pleased you enjoy taking in the beauty of the various flora and fauna in this area. It is truly a delight. And, how can I overlook your love of Ford Mustangs, and that Cobra and Nova are great models to get you dreaming. Aren't they beautiful?
You know....if I want a reliably good "American" big breakfast, I can't go wrong with an IHOP. It's not the absolute best, but it's good and it's not crazy expensive. And yes, their coffee is good if you're American or French. Italians probably wouldn't agree, but does that really matter to us? And then I just love corned beef or pastrami sandwidges of any kind - yes to the Reuben! My mother always liked seeing the female cardinals. The females have less color than the males, but they are actually prettier - more nuanced.
