The deserted colonial site at the top of a small mountain on a cold frosty day is where we spent it metal detecting and relic hunting. Around the cellar hole , the rock walls and the now overgrown farm fields we spent hours detecting and digging with a few good finds. The problem with this place is the grommets....like hundreds of them. We think they are from the 1800s because they are deep in the dirt and aged. Metal detecting old places like this with all the New England history always makes for interesting times.
