A Full Tour Of Edinburgh Castle In Scotland 

As an American who’s never been to a castle, it’s hard for me to fathom buildings this old and significant

You just saved me thousands in airfare alone. I feel as though I’ve been there now. Great job on the filming and narration.

So proud to call Edinburgh my home (born and bred here). Even better when sitting at home watching youtube videos and being able to look out the window and get a perfect view of this lovely castle.

I visited the castle in 1982 when my ship, the USS America CV66, made a port visit. I loved every minute of it. So much to see and throughout the city.

It mustve been very difficult and painful for so many royal, nobles and servant Scots back in the day who had to travel up amd down all the stairs found in all castles back then. Speaking of the elderly and not so elderly who suffered from arthritis, gout, sugar disease etc.

I went there in 2018. The castle and Scotland are amazing !!!!! I adore Scotland ! 🥰🌵🏜️❣️💕💞💗💖💘💝🥰🌵🏜️❣️💕💞💗💖💘💝

I was brought to Edinburgh Castle by my adult cousins when I was 12. My brother and I were spending the summer in Scotland. My dad is born and raised in Scotland. A beautiful, quaint, charming country. I am proud of my Scottish roots.

Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities in the world, been there twice for the fringe festival and it’s absolutely fantastic, went to the castle when I was a bit younger, but those prices do seem a bit expensive

🇨🇦 My Nannie and Grampa came over to Ontario Canada from Scotland with their 4 little daughter. My mum and her 3 sisters. My grandfather was a plain clothed police detective in Scotland. I've never been there, it's a dream for me. Great video. Thank you so much, I got to see a small part tho which I'm extatic about! My mother often spoke of this castle.

As a history major this video kills me. I love Canada but living here sucks compared to the history of Europe and the UK along with traveling to locations. I want to go to so many places but is so expensive and what do I prioritize?! Ahhhhh. Do I move to the UK, buy a summer home? Who am I kidding I can’t afford either of those 😭

I were supposed to visit Edinburgh this summer, but the trip was cancelled because of the Covid-19 outbreak. At least I can watch this guide as a substitute.

We stayed overnight near Edinburgh last yr and went to the zoo there. We also saw the Hogwarts train on the way. Staying overnight in Keswick and Inverness. Called at Loch Ness too X X X We couldn't afford to go in the castle so this is great to see, thanks X

I think I like this channel better then the other one just because you go to different places like castles and things like that.

I need to get back to Scotland. One of my favorite places I visited.

I've been to Heidelberg Castle in Germany, they have an apothecary area and a stage that I think is still active

Hi Shawn, Great video of the castle. I was there a week ago and having watched your video prior to my trip, it gave me a better understanding of not only what to expect but the lay out of the castle and grounds as well. I was pleased that you did not photograph the crown jewels. At three different stations during entry there were signs posted making it very clear that photography was prohibited. . . and yet when I was in the chamber, there were those few who had their cell phones out snapping photos left and right. So disrespectful. Well done on sharing your personal tour of the castle. It really is an amazing place. To add to that--Edinburgh, in my opinion, is a city filled with beautiful architecture, friendly and caring citizens and never-ending stunning views. I plan to go back as there is yet so much more to see. Cheers, Darryl

Thanks, guys! Great video. We visit a castle every summer and in lockdown, we watched this as a "virtual castle day out" tour- loved the video! You know all the stuff you do on a castle day out? Drive to a castle, have a cafe lunch or cream tea, stop off at a pub on the way home... So Morrison's cream cakes, tea, virtual castle tour- all done. All that's left now is to do the virtual "evening meal back from the castle" so I'm doing the virtual pub meal for the family and cooking individual meals tonight.

I was there at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 and the castle was closed up. Wonderful to actually see around the inside. Beautiful. Edinburgh was my very favorite city we visited.

Hi Shaun, Just found this video. I lived and worked in the Castle for 4 years from 1996-2000. I served with the Royal Military Police and as such was accomodated in the new barrack block. Our Police Staion was within the entrance to the building. It was a real pain in the summer with tourists. The winter time was best. I could go on but i won't bore you with it all. Stevie in Fife.

I laughed when he said "it's absolutely roasting today, we're in the mid 20's" lol Meanwhile, i'm in Australia where the mid 20's is our winter temperature, his "absolutely roasting" is very cool weather for us and our summer's are a hot 40+ degree's!!! Now that's what you call "roasting" mate!

You need to do the NC500 route and see the nature in Scotland, it’s stunning! Lived here all my life and thought I’d do a small section of it, got to go through Glen Co, Loch Lomond, Loch Ness ( both of which just stop at the side of the road and you can climb down if you want a private spot) stopped at the killin falls. It’s beautiful like it’s out of a movie! X

In 1990 I traveled from Canada to the U.K. I stood on the street in front of the stores that you showed right at the beginning of this video. There were so many buses that the diesel fumes made me sick and we never got to go inside the castle. So, thank you for the video, it fills me in on something I missed.

Shawn it's amazing how many places we have both been to. We have a lot in common 😃👍 I only visited the exterior of the castle. Great footage by you. The mound you referred to is "Arthurs seat". Highest point of lovely Edinburgh. Great views from up there. It was featured in the movie "Trainspotting". Keep making these fab vlogs!! 👍

My girlfriend (now my wife) and I visited there back in 2012 and we were both enamored by the castle design and everything in it. We both decided that if given the chance, we would go back there again. I loved your video but RU-vid videos are no substitute for seeing the thing with your own eyes.

Early memories of entering Edinburgh by train ,looking up and seeing the castle high above my head. 20 minutes later on Princess Street there was a running battle taking place between Hibs and Aberdeen casuals
