@@J4CKS0N_D34R3ST They couldn’t charge Capone with possible murder and illegal moonshining ( process of making illegal alcohol ) because they wasn’t sufficient enough evidence but sense Capone never paid taxes this is what they used as trial for his arrest to get around the American legal system. History is fun sometimes.
Officially, according to the devs, all the documents in the game have something to do with taxes, and whenever Turnip Boy is reminded about taxes while reading anything, he tears up whatever he reads in a blind rage.
@@me-tj5vr Tax evasion and fraud are pretty much the same thing. If you are evading paying your tax money you are frauding. Because you are keeping money that is meant for the government. Both is pretty much stealing money from the government by not paying what is more or less rightfully theirs. Some taxes are pretty questionable but you still have to pay them.
I was hoping Mat would find out on his own with some of the hints that comes later but I didn't even think about how the fork being ancient would give it away, I'm sort of disappointed at the fact he technically got told about it but at the same time I'm amazed at the person who made that connection
"Foreshadowing is a dramatic device in which a plot point is revealed earlier in the story only to return later in a more significant way" -Hermione Granger
The analogy of tax prep companies being the nerd you pay for math answers is perfect. It gets even better when you realize the nerd bribes the teacher to make the test harder, so you have to pay them for answers
I wonder if there is an explanation of why Turnip Boy can’t talk, part of me wonders if he isn’t fully evolved yet (or mutated might be a better word) and so he hasn’t fully become humanoid.
@@aereon_gaming It could be a sort of Chell situation; I think it was either Portal 2 or word of devs that confirmed that she _can_ speak, she just chooses not to to spite Glados bc she knows it pisses her off. I still personally like the headcanon that she and Gordon Freeman (at least from HL1 bc I haven't played 2 yet) are mute and talk via sign language, bc I don't usually come across many mute characters in games and I think it would be cool
@@lzrshark617 it would be cool to either play as a mute character or make my own game involving that. I'm selectively mute which isn't really understood by people
In robs a bank (the sequel), it is revealed that his voice rips people's souls out, because crancran, who is the only one he speaks to in this game with the word "stop" gets her soul ripped out because of it.
What Sounds I Assume These So Obviously Represent : ... = nervously throwing up, as we know !!! = Sneezing ??? = HUH in the strangest voice possible ,,, = Very Long Pause ;;; = crazed Murmurs
MatPat: it looks like it’s going to be a cute story about tax evasion. Me who knows how this is happening after all humans are dead because of a nuclear war: Pathetic
The chit chat between Mirror Matt and MatPat brings an indescribable amount of joy! 😊 PS: when MatPat started talking about cannibal-themed theories, my mind immediately went to his Wall-e film theory! 😂
"Doing taxes" is such a weird concept. Why can't your government be like ours and just deduct the amount from our earnings or literally send an invoice
"Sometimes that public properties just scream at ya like 'please vandalize me!'." ~ Matpat Well actually just today I saw a PETA ad on the side of the road so YES.
I can’t wait for the sequel: “Turnip boy commits several patches of arson on small orphanages” I hope it’s as cute as the first game Also listen closely to the weapon woods music
Building on Mirror Matt's theory about Nuclear Fallout: The nuclear reaction could've either turned humans into vegetables or given vegetables a consciousness.
What an adorable little game that is so clearly hiding a bigger story in it and I would love to see Mat play it to the end and then make a video about the world of Turnip Boy
Read this if you see this, I will not ask this again. IS THE UNFINISHED MALL SURROUNDING THE FNAF PIZZARIA GOING TO BE THE NEW MALL IN THE SECURITY BREACH? Thank you for your time.. or not who knows, you might have not even caught this. ;_;
RE: voice remedies- I have a friend who’s an opera singer. She swears by a tea of grated ginger, lemon, and honey (plus whiskey if that’s your thing). It’s also a good cold remedy.
Does anyone else love the cute noises that mat did for Turnip boy? (I was actually expecting him to make puking noises as a call-back to their doki doki streams lol)
Turnip Boy says ONLY ONE word throughout the entire game and that's when you talk to the cat lady after retrieving her missing cat. Please continue this game, Matt. It's worth it.
You're in for one heck of a fun ride because I decided to purchase and play this game after watching this video and honestly it was the best three hours ever. All of the achievements are hilarious, the hats are fun, and buckle up for the story because it gets a bit odd.
My music teacher in elementary school taught us how to breath with our diaphragm, and I also played trumpet in school for about 5 years. So I have breathed with my diaphragm my entire life and I am pretty glad I strengthened my lungs and whatnot.
Aight so I know this was made months ago but I've actually got a good suggestion for something to use when your voice doesn't want to work: horehound candy! I ate, like, a LOT of horehound when I worked at a haunted house so that I could keep screaming all night without murdering my throat
My own "oh no it is the day of a show you have a big solo and have lost your voice hack" gargle with apple cider vinegar. Sucks, and tastes nasty, but hey it works.
I understand the feeling with the irs letter coming in the mail. The irs messed up my taxes thinking I miscalculated my taxes and now they are giving my refund in chunks and by mail🤦🏾♂️
I was hoping Mat would play this game! I'm excited to see how he likes it, seeing how eccentric is is (and with there being a bit more than what meets the eye with this game)
I honestly thought the title of the video was a play on how game economies don't have you pay taxes (usually), I was NOT ready for it to be that actual title! That's hilarious!
