Olá! Am enjoying your videos from Montana. I too will be living in central Portugal beginning mid-April. I will be renting “Casa das Xisto” that is located on a very large ecological farm near Oleiros. So looking forward to growing vegetables and the many citrus trees. Will again have chickens & a small flock of sheep (to be used as lawnmowers & for the wool), as I had a small sheep & poultry farm at one time. Look forward to following your adventures!

Don't you have a truck? Thought I saw one. Drive the truck over to the pile have the chipper there and grind into the truck. Then drive the truck to wherever you want chips. Seems easier then hawling and handling the tree branches twice.

With regards to water purification. I use a conventional solar water heater to sterilise my water and provide hot water for normal use. Filter water first to remove sediment and tiny particles then send it to the solar water heater, no need to boil water as the solar heater does exactly that. The volume calculations on the board, Pie*r^2 triggered a old maths joke, "Pie 'r' round not squared"... 🙂
