A Grunt's Life - a parody of an infantry platoon in the Helmand Province in 2008. The show is set in the Helmand Province in 2008 and will showcase the true thoughts, fantasies, and dialogue of combat hardened service members during war time and demonstrate the humor they must maintain to keep up with the miserable conditions. This will hit harder than Generation Kill or Full Metal Jacket.

Really my only issue with this is everyone looks so clean. Everyone's hair looks like they showered I know damn well being in the field gives you a greasy ass appearance and kevlar hair lol

Ugh caveman you can put baby oil or some shit. I don't see what baby wipes are going to do you're only cleaning your pits groin and ass your clothes are still going to be sweaty

Yep.... just another day in the life of a grunt there. Anytime we came across some shit like that, some mine field or even a report of a minefield, soon as us lower guys knew it was there in the backs of our minds we all KNEW eventually we were gonna have to do a foot patrol through it.... ya know how it is when you see something you know CAN hurt you and you just know beyond a fraction of a doubt you're gonna have to face that thing eventually? Yea.... it's kinda like that. "Oh we found a minefield? Well I give it about 2 days and our COC is gonna have us patrolling into it." Or "oh this squad was pinned down by heavy machine gun fire in this area, and had to have QRF come in who then had to be reinforced just to get out of there? Yea I'll bet every one of our next 30 some patrols for the next month is gonna be in that area." And people wonder why we come home bitter and angry with a general distaste for humanity. But we also come home able to laugh at some of the moments where very few others can.... moments where people are so stressed out they can't even piss they're so worked up, and we will find something funny, and laugh. It helps ease the stress. So Silver lining I guess. And some people find ways to get over the anger and bitterness. They find ways to deal with the disgust (though it never goes away), but that ability to be facing a shitstorm head on and find something to laugh at just never seems to go away, which is probably why most of us have real twisted senses of humor. "Fuck it, so what if we walked through a mine field and could've lost a leg, least I wasn't the one who pissed on themselves when a local kid threw a rock at us." Or "fuck it, i know they took fire here and we are probably bein watched right now as we are currently holding our position, they can watch as I dig this cat hole in their front yard, drop a huge load of freedom via processed MRE and bury it while still maintaining my sector."

@3:08 Truth. Reminds me of the time we were tasked with weeding the _tops_ of HESCOs for a dog and pony show. Stupidest shit -- I pulled my boys down and drenched the weeds in JP8 pronto. Command wasn't happy about flaming HESCO barriers, but we ain't taking fire while being tasked with destroying natural camouflage.

RJack isn’t wrong, however; if being an Army Ranger is something you want to do, a goal or dream, fuckin do it! Get up every morning before the sun and exercise like crazy. Spend every day for the next 5 years prepping yourself for it. Study hard. Learn the warrior ethos , soldiers creed and army values. Live every minute by them! Never quit. Quit can NOT be in your vocabulary. It is not an option. Don’t let the negative comments get to you, use them as motivation. It does not matter who starts a war, serving your country is something not many people have the balls to do. Just keep your nose clean and work towards it every day!🇺🇸
