Blair Castle is easily accessible from the A9, about a 2 hour drive north from Edinburgh and 1.5 hours from Inverness. The castle dates back over 700 years and is the ancient seat of the Dukes & Earls of Atholl. It's one of Scotland's most popular visitor attractions and a favourite with campers and caravanners. There are excellent facilities, with a self-service restaurant, gift shop and ample parking.
Highlights of any visit would include a self-guided tour of the castle and a walk around Hercules Walled Garden, Diana's Grove and St Bride's Kirk, which are all stunningly beautiful. After your visit I can thoroughly recommend a walk up the nearby Falls of Bruar, which is about a ten minute drive away. It all makes for a truly fabulous day out.
