Great video Johan, one thing I find with my SS is the head design is set to the desired shaving angle and is quite intuitive. But it is easy to cut oneself. Have a great day. Very best regards Gordon 👍

Oh that's interesting. I shall try that angle next time. Thank you!

Agreed. I draw blood much more often with my feather style vs my straight razors.

Strange, but this remains true for me even after many shaves with both types of razors.

Nice video Johan. I have some straight razors and a few Feather Artist Club razors as well. Machine sharpened razor blades are much sharper than anything I've ever sharpened and that accounts for the occasional weepers I get as well.

Hi Michael. Sharp doesn't always mean good though, right?

@@Shave_n_Butcher That's right...and in my case, I need to have a few days growth to enjoy a good shave with these razors.

The shavettes that accept injector blades are great in my experience!

I am not sure I have tried one of those, so there's something to keep a look-out for. Thanks!

I agree. I think he means the feather single edge like the pro and super. many of the pinch styles (as opposed to clasp, insert or weck) use them. thicker blades usually give better comfort. I lost my weck and came to like the turkish style. I had a few and wanted to make my wecks personna blades work. I (safely) remove the spine from the persona shaper blades and run them in a Sedef. I got a few of the multi packs, and planned on stretching the friction fit in one color to use the thicker SE blades. Finding they dont fully seat (unless you want nearly no exposure) and its procarious to set and align the blade without it well seated, I found a strip of metal to shim under the blade, so that one sedef takes the thicker injector style (and the similar style with only 2 holes in it). Simply a strip of stainless in a similar size to street sweeper bristles, and I ran it down the gap, to raise the seat height for blades shallower (edge to spine) than half DE. friction fit makes turkish razors pretty versatile. just use proper form and loading technique and you wont cut yourself. even loading injectors can cut you if your finger is where it shouldnt be. each style has its own safe method of loading, and turkish seems to be a mystery to many.

@@tbrew8222 I am much more comfortable around straight razors than I am around razor blades. I often fear I will cut myself and sometime I do.

For the big bucks and the super cool look go Essence by Tedalus. Uses Artist Club, 1/2 DE or injector style blades.

@@Shave_n_Butcher I really do. Not that the resultant shave is better than other tools for the same blades though. I prefer other tools with a 1/2 DE. It handles quite well and the profile is thin. Many say it looks and performs more like a true straight than other options, I seem to agree. Happy New Year and Happy Anniversary

1- If you could have only one shavette... Which would you choose? 2- Have you tried the Artist Club SS? 3- Have you tried the Schick proline p30 blades? If not you absolutely have to. It's the only blade I'll use in my artist clubs. I never bother with feather profession or super professional anymore.

I would choose of of the Wecks. Yes I have tried an SS, and it is honestly just as good as a DX in terms of the shave. I didn't know that Schick blades work in artist club razors. I think I will order some. Thank you!

I have been using Pro Guards in my shavette for a year or more , very decent blade, very safe. Then tried the Professional ones in the black box, a step up in sharpness for sure, I can only imagine how sharp those Supers are in the white box, they are designed for thick curly beard growth, however, Yikes 😱 😂

I have the super pros because Frank dared me. I definitely don't need it with my type of facial hair. I will choose another kind when I finish these, which I expect will be around 2033.

I can't supress feeling nervous each time you load different variants of what I perceive as not-so-safety-razors 😄In any case, interesting to see (and please don't cut yourself).
