@@CortexNewsService All reasonable people are leaving the city. Crime has migrated to all areas of the city, which liberals think is just fantastic in vile "we love that you are now feeling our pain" way, police are handcuffed by an administration that thinks racist policing is the actual cause of crime, tax rates skyrocketing to pay for the mayor's socialist utopia dream, homelessness, the smell, the trash, teens out of control. You got out just in time.
@@CortexNewsService I am so sorry to hear about your husband. I hope you don't mind me asking, have you ever thought about going back to Chicago? My husband and I have been up there a couple of times but honestly, couldn't stay long enough to enjoy it.
I’m one who normally avoids these celebrity guest / politician guest bit because the comedian host does nothing but be as obnoxious as possible. THANK YOU for getting the balance right on this one. I really enjoyed this one and even learned something with the explainer on why Chicago has such great architecture.
it's really great over the summer because the walks along the beaches are quite amazing. If and when you do come here to Chicago, definitely check out the conservatories and the Botanical Gardens. Definitely worth seeing.
I love love LOVE Jordan Klepper. Stopping at every bar he drank at as a Chicagoan is about as Chicagoan as one can get. Ending at Wrigley field is the cherry on the sundae.
Jordan Klepper and JB! what a wonderful pair. I live in the Chicago burbs. I think JB is one of the best Governors we ever had. This state has lot of fiscal problems when he took over but he is doing his best. I can' think of a more people-centric billionaire. I need to try the Malort now :)
He did commit tax evasion. And seemingly got away with it as I haven’t seen any reporting on it since. He also said to lock down restaurants in IL for Covid, respectable and reasonable, but then like that week or a week afterwards he was seen at a restaurant in Wisconsin.
@SaraBourbonNight I know MK did an architectural restoration on the Gov. Mansion. And she is a huge help with women getting out of prison. She is fantastic too!!
@SaraBourbonNight MK is JB's wife. She did a restoration on the governor's mansion. So no, the toilets were not taken out of the nansion here in Springfield. She restored the home back to its original glory. As for the rest of what I wrote, MK supports helping women who are coming out of prison to find jobs, housing and to get back on their feet. She visits the women's prison here also. She is a fantastic person.
I was in Chicago for the first time last month and boy... It was absolutely stunning! And not because of the smell of Wrigley Field, but it was amazing too!
He’s such a great governor and a breath of fresh air from the last several. He’s really helped the state keep moving forward in so many progressive ways.
Bavette's!!! Cherry Circle Room, Cindy's Rooftop, Au Cheval for burgers, Girl & the Goat, Little Goat, Untitled Supper Club, Delilah's, Scofflaw's...too many great places to eat and drink in Chicago. ❤
I was in Chicago a couple years ago, wanted to try to hit more museums (I was there for work) but did go to the Chicago history museum and did learn a LOT about Chicago. Did I get to see a big dinosaur? No, but I did get to learn more than I ever did about the before and after of the great Chicago fire, and a whole lot of other pro-labour things
My husband got to finally go to Chicago (frm Canada) last year to see the Dead Concert, he totally loved Wrigley. Still talks about being there. Thank You Chicago, Jordan and Gov Pritzker. great tour.
My mother (who is 75) calls Jordan her boyfriend. 😆 I think his MAGA-on-the -street interviews kept her sane during the pandemic and the rocky years that followed. As a liberal, atheist, widow who loves sarcasm living in Utah, she has a hard time finding kindred spirits to socialize with. His humorous commentary is very validating and reminds her that she's not the only person in the world who can see that the ex President has no clothes.
So this was filmed before Green Day last Tuesday. That was awesome seeing the bar crawl and concert setup. I am disappointed they did not have a Cicada Malort, but that is so 6 weeks ago.
Pritzker: "When this place is full (Wrigley Field), it is amazing!" I couldn't agree more! As a Cub fan, I love being at Wrigley watching my team play, and when they win, it is extra special! Finally something my governor and I can agree on!
0:46 - Last week, apropos of nothing, a coworker, a park ranger, who hails from Chicago was telling me about the pivotal importance of Jeppson's Malört to Chicago drinking.
I love how Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker walked around Chicago to show Jordan Klepper the high points of Chicago. It was especially wonderful that the Governor drank shots of Malork with Klepper. This is a liquor with the caveat that it's not made out of gasoline. EPIC!!! I love the TV show, "The Bear." It was nominated more than any other program for the 2024 Emmy Awards, and I can see why. The acting is superb, and it depicts a gritty and real, yet hopeful, Chicago atmosphere. If you've never watched it, you should.
I'm so Chicago I actually like Malort. It's like a working man's Fernet... maybe mixed with a little of the mystery juices from the bottom of a night market dumpster.
