Aha is still active - 36 years after their international breakthrough with "Take on me". The band consists of the three original band members; Morten, Magne and Paul. They have a large international audience. Next year they will go on a new tour with concerts in many countries. I have bought tickets to one of their concerts in Oslo, Norway🇳🇴
The lead singer Morten Harket is - in my opinion - one of the best looking men in the WORLD (I am allowed to say this, I am 70 years old and have been married to a WOMAN for 43 years), he is still present with his group AHA, and is currently on the jury of "Voice Of Nerwegen".
I dont think A-ha’s sound is dated. Their newest music sounds modern but they have kept their style through the years. I would say their sound and music is timeless.
AND THEN SOME !! It was waaay back in 1984-85 …….this stuns me every version that I hear especially this one being the Orange final one ……. Just a masterpiece and so ahead of the curve …… the sound puts it in their wheelhouse you automatically know it’s them ….. so many other stunning tracks … Hunting High & Low, the title track and then you have Sun Always Shines On TV & Manhattan Skyline …. After that album it’s Scoundrel Days, Cry Wolf, Maybe, Maybe & Soft Rain Of April. Stay on These Roads, Touchy, There’s Never a Forever Thing. Dark Is the Night For All, Crying In The Rain, Minor Earth, Major Sky, Velvet, Lifelines, You Are The One, Cast In Steel, The Bandstand, Foot Of The Mountain, Under The Makeup, Door Ajar, & Forever Not Yours
@@ReactToTheWorld You should listen to Mortens solo album Wild Seed. A stunner and you see his voice & the influence on the a-Ha tracks He has an album Vogts Villa, done in Norwegian and just beautiful melodies ….. Out Of My Hands to me is one of his finest albums. Scared Of Heights is a killer start to the album and Out Of My Hands & Lightning are worth a listen too …… Do You Remember Me & Oh What a Night from the Brother solo album are the last must listen in my opinion ….. Pål Waakktaar-Savoy has his side project and Reason To Stay Indoors is a fantastic track and album too. Also worth a listen Star, Velvet & Lacklustre Me ….. have found and enjoy !!!!
Now listen to the same band doing this on MTV unplugged about 5-6 yrs ago. Morten Harket was around 25 during the original video- was like 60 on the MTV unplugged show- still beautiful, and still sings just beautifully too!!!
if you had been banged in to the wall for 10-15 times you be swetty too lol. the sound maybe outdated but this song is still used in new films and series
When I'm driving, the unwritten rule in my car when this song comes on the radio is very simple...you either sing along or you stay quiet. You do not interupt the song with conversation.😁
The animation is rotoscoped. It is a process of drawing over the film. So the video was filmed normally and then the animation was traced over it. Ralph Bakshi was famous for doing his films this way. Check out American Pop, Wizards, and the animated Lord of the Rings.
To hear this in an incredibly moving way, I suggest listening to the acoustic version they did MTV Unplugged...it shows the real power and skill of it, stripped of all the techno-geegaws and visual art. It's just about heartbreaking.
Aha is probably my favorite bands of all time. Since I was 9. Try listening to Minor Earth Major sky. That one is amazing too and I suggest it every time I see someone react to an aha song.
Yes, folks. It won several awards. One of the most unique songs by the way it was done. I have never seen any kind of duplications!! The song says TAKE ME ON and nobody else did!! I was watching some of your couple year ago So Hyang reactions. Great!! So Hyang has a best friend named "PARK KI-YOUNG"!! Contemporary pop and some rock for 20 years!! She decided to sing Classical!!! She chose "NELLA FANTASIA" a song made popular by Sarah Brightman. Let me put it this way. If you are So Hyang's best friend? You are at the top of your game!! Have you seen Dimash' new songs like STRANGER and AVE MARIA? You got more reacting to do!!
As well as having a ground breaking video for the time. And loved songs from there 80's. It's probably one of the most sampled songs both for its opening and rhythm sections. I would love to know how many songs that have come out since have sampled bits and pieces from this song.
The sound isnt dated at All. A-ha have sold over 100 million records. Its only USA that have missed out on the rest of the brilliance. Seems they are getting back to USA also now since they have been touring There This year. 11th album is coming out in October! "True North". You should react to "Summer Moved On" from 2000. My fav a-ha song where Morten holds the record of longest note held in a pop song ever. 20,2 seconds. And he did that live also. Should react to Live in Oslo spektrum.
@@ReactToTheWorld Def Leppard was first favorite band of my life, starting at 5th grade. Still love them, seen them 3 times or so. Other favorites were and still are Van Halen, Stryper, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue and Poison.
Seriously dude, ZIP it and let the hot girl talk. You're saying he's "sweaty" and all we're thinking is "he's hot". Play to your strengths, which she is, and you are NOT.
I watch some of these reaction videos to see if they "Get it" but it when people spend more time making fun of it, I realize they have missed something special. This music video has something to say. Too bad you two missed it.
Written by a-ha. Modern rock/pop band from Norway. This is a 2nd version. Released in 1985. Trust me: this is better than the original version. 😃😃😃 Morten Harket sings 1 of the most difficicult belts! 🤯 Morten Harket is underrated. You never hear his name with Steve Perry + Freddie Mercury as among the GOAT singers. But Morten belongs here! 😃 The actress later appears in To Be a Lover with Billy Idol. 🇬🇧 In the Solid Gold performance, Gina Schock from The Go-Go's played the drums. Sample. Pitbull wrote a rap + sampled Take on Me. Suggested sampled song: Pitbull, Christina Aguilera + Morten Harket perform Feel This Moment. Suggested next a-ha song: Train of Thought. This song is even harder to sing than Take on Me! 🤯 🎸😃👨🎤🎹😃
A classic video. There are some other really videos from the 80s and 90s. Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer is a good one, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OJWJE0x7T4Q.html, and the video for Coverdale Page "Take Me For A Little While" is truly incredible, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p-ooOf_rih0.html.
