Thank you for the tutorial! Slowly but surely its helping build a solid toolbox for using this program to the fullest! Much appreciate all of the hard work!
Can you do a video on the benefits of Bitmap animation in Toon Boom Harmony. I've been doing my rough animations in bitmap and then my clean layers in vector. But what are the benefits if any with bitmap?
honestly, there is no benefit to working in bitmap other than it caaaaan sometimessss be lighter than textured brushes on a vector layer? but like... barely? So it is really not worth it. The other ''pro'' to bitmap is that it'S apparently ''Simpler'' . . . . than vector or textured vectors? but like this is silly because of course it's ''Simpler to use'' but that is because you are lacking so many helpful tools like the scaling, cutter, contour editor, centerline editor and more. So honestly, there is not any worthy ''pros'' of using the bitmap layers. They were useful 10 years ago when textured brushes didn'T exist, but nowadays, pretty obsolete! hope this helps!
@@ZeBirdBrain thanks. I do 90% of my animation in vectors in TBH. I sometimes dabble in TVPaint Pro too. I really enjoy working in Storyboard Pro as well. Any news on updates? When can we expect a new Harmony or Storyboard pro? I would love if they could include the mirror mode like in photoshop and clip studio paint. Also, we need the ability to import photoshop brushes at some point. I’ve checked the forums over at Toon Boom and everyone’s mum about the updates.
@@othmaneanimation2636 when there is an update, we will all find out at the same time! :D Importing photoshop brushes directly is unlikely, since they are two different softwares. Photoshop is a painting software with painting brushes and drawing engine, Harmony is for animation, thewy don't work the same. HOWEVER you can import your brush tips an give them similar settings in H too? Did you know? I have a video n the subject :) studio.ru-vid.comra6a5ioUpCc/edit
@@ZeBirdBrain thank you, I'll check it out. I only mentioned the photoshop brushes because Clip Paint Studio has created coding to import your photoshop brushes. I thought perhaps one day we could do the same. I'll check your video on converting brush tips. Mirror mode is must, especially when thumbnailing in Harmony or Storyboard Premium. I hope this feature gets added. We all want to save time when working on a big project.
