A High End Audiophile Headphones! Edifier Stax Spirit S3 Review! Today we’re very privilege to be one of the few reviewers who get to try out Edifier’s latest High End headphones, and this is their first ever High End Headphones developed under their Stax Spirit Line up and i’m really looking forward to more headphones from this series in the future.
The Stax Spirit S3 is sent over to me for review by Edifier Malaysia, and I’m so blessed to have this collaboration with them and checking out all of these cool audio tech from them.

I was very interested in these until i read they don’t have ANC. Looking for new headphones for traveling in trains. The headband of my not so old Fidelio L3 is coming apart. Sucks, because i really like the Fidelio series of Philips overall. I have for home use the X2HR and X3.

Edifier said you need to use the battery wired. Are you sure you don’t need the battery when connected directly?

Are these headphones worth buying? Wait till 9th September for special price RM999 Closed-back headphones, but with sheepskin earmuffs, will it reduce the stuffiness after wearing it for a long time? I have a small head, how is the clamping force of this earphone? How is the sound? thanks

I think it would be great if its designed like the new XM5. that would be so awesome. This is their first release from the Stax Spirit series. i'm sure more awesome stuff are coming up!

Are these headphones heavy? How's the clamping force?

They weigh around 330g, pretty comfortable for me and the clamping force is not too bad. It held on, but not too tight, when shaking my head, i do feel it moving around a little.

If you value sound quality then Stax Spirit S3 If you want ANC and bass heavy sound quality then XM5

the call quality is alright, for the price I expect more from the microphone. But I guess edifier is focusing more on the sound on this one rather than a full wireless headset experience. I hope i can try these someday, cause the stax branding is a high name to market to a bunch of audiophiles and edifier's reputation on making tws/headphones are not bad either.

These headphones are like Johnny Walker Black Label™. They seem expensive until you realize they're great value because the price isn't really all that high compared to others but you're getting really good stuff.

If you're comparing to the high end dynamic wireless headphones from Focal Bathy, Mark Levinson 5909, T+A's Solitaire T and etc, this price is way cheaper but then yet to audit this.

I somehow think the XM4 is sound better compared to this headphone, or do I need it more time time the headphone is really ready for me to use? or I really need to the tidal? right now I am using RU-vid music as music player. Before this I try Grado GT220 Galaxy Buds Pro Sony Xm4 (TWS and Headphone, prefer headphone)

Could it be because of the codec. Maybe you use LDAC with the Sony's. And AptX audio with the S3'S. Check the codec connection

The XM4 supports aac, the S3 does not. So if you use an phone the S3 will be playing in sbc which sounds worse than aac on the xm4. Or maybe you like a lot of bass

fyi, RM1200 ain't expensive or "high-end" in the context of audiophile headphones. I spend RM3000 on a Hifiman Ananda but everyone and their mother on hi-fi community forums such as r/headphones, HifiGuides, or Head-fi will call it mid-fi lol. Imo, high-end starts at RM4000 with the likes of DCA Aeon Noire, Sennheiser HD800S, Hifiman Arya, Audeze LCD-X, Stax SR-L500 etc... I don't want to be THAT elitist guy, but considering Apple and Sony managed to sell over 5000 units of their Airpods Pro, Wh-1000XM4, etc on Shopee that costs over RM1000 it's safe to say they're not high-end and people are more than comfortable enough to spend well over RM1000 for a headphone.

@@dizazone До этого были сони 1000хм4. Есть разница. Что сразу заметил, так это (отсутствующий в сони) белый шум при коннекте с устройством, здесь он, хоть и не особо громкий, но есть. Далее. Отсутствие шумодава сводит на нет любое использование вне дома, так как низов становится почти не слышно. Ещё. При посещения крупного ТЦ отваливается коннект с телефоном, поэтому приходится вновь и вновь нажимать на плей. Такой херни с сони в этом ТЦ не было. И главное. Крайне скрипучий корпус - малейшее движение головой вызывает очень громкие потрескивания пластика в местах сочленения подвижных элементов. Буду думать, чем этот скрип устранить. Попробую какую-нибудь смазку. Звук с андроид-устройств неплохой. Кодек aptx-HD. Басы не так выпячены, как в сони, но их хватает. Громкости тоже хватает. Другого не ожидал, знал о всех этих недостатках до покупки, тк хотелось заиметь планары. В целом, звук устраивает (если сидеть без движения). Так что продавать пока не буду.

Ermmm, i won't call this as a high end headphone but maybe a high quality entry level audiophile headphone or a flagship headphone from edifier x stax.
