As a Silent Hill fan. I honestly think this looks great, and I'm excited to play it. My concern is cut content

Every single thing in the original Silent Hill 2 is symbolic of something, if you change little things like clothing, location of the radio or slightly change design of the monsters then you mess with the original vision of Silent Hill 2. The people that love the original game are gonna despise this remake. The new players might like it but I wouldn't be suprised if most of them will think its just a Resident Evil clone with worse combat mechanics.

The fact consulting firm was hired and changed things up makes it a hard pass for me. I can’t support a company that goes this direction. Just no. It sucks that I have to even investigate to see if certain companies are taking in DEI.

It looks good, IMO. People are just not happy with some of the characters' faces, and it's blooper developing the game. But from what I have seen, the combat and graphics look much better from the first trailer. Day one purchase for me.

I'm sorry but a Polish or any other western dev simply cannot reproduce the atmosphere that was achieved in an older Japanese game. The atmosphere is essential to these games. Only the Silent team should have ever tried to touch this again

I do feel slightly unsure with Angela’s model considering the graphics doesn’t feel on par with the RE remakes & The Last of Us 2 & remake. Other than that, I do hope SH2R lives up to its promise.

Im gonna get the remake. As someone who adored the original i want this game to succeed simply so that newer fans can experience it and get into the series and have a revival. As much id like newer fans to experience the original i know thats difficult these days considering how expensive the og is to buy. That and not everyone has emulators.

SH2R gameplay preview has changed my mind. I def got the SH vibes this time and I am excited for it.

I really appreciate this fair take. I don’t feel comfortable judging a game until it’s released, just doesn’t feel fair. I also love the RE remakes, and I have some hope that Bloober will be faithful to the original. Even if it isn’t good…I don’t think it’s fair to tear it down before we’ve even gotten a chance to see more than a few minutes of it. I really recommend playing SH3 btw- it’s my personal favorite :) perhaps that’s why I’m not as upset about this one so far 😅

As a long time silent hill fan, since the first game on PS1, it looks fine to me. The fan base is just filled with a bunch of incessant crybabies so no matter what Konami does they’re gonna hate it.

Yea I’m sold it’s a day one for me. Silent hill wasn’t really known for its combat so everything I saw was an improvement and bloober does an amazing job on atmosphere in their games. I’m hyped! My only concern is how it runs cuz it’s on unreal 5 and most games don’t have the best track record on that engine

I liked what i saw and definitely will be picking it up.

Honestly I knew SH2 Remake was not gonna be for me because to me SH2 is already perfect (I’m talking about the Enhanced Edition on PC). There was no way they were ever going to live up to the original. However, will say this: seeing how much love and passion Bloober Team is putting towards it, makes me feel if I do buy it, it would mostly be to support the developers and not because I wanna play the remake

The Angela character model looks terrible and Maria has a massive noggin. If they fix that, they might be ok.

Good take on the subject matter man. Soo much hate lately over 1 screenshot.... The game looks great and I'm glad they showed some combat footage, because that looks great too. Being one of those fans that has played SH for over 26 years I can honestly say that Bloober team did a fantastic job. The models look amazing, the stage and set pieces look dark and grimey, Angela looks like a real persn with serious trauma (i've seen some "edits" on reddit that made le laugh out loud, because they made her into a cover girl complete with a nose and boob job). Looking very much forward to it, and looking forward for the troglodytes to find something else they can get angry, call woke and make 10 youtube videos over....

I’m a SH noob, it’s got me hyped. But I respect the guys who love the original, I know what it’s like to have a classic ruined!

As someone who hasn't really played that much of SILENT HILL, I'm excited for SH2, I don't really have an issue with the redesigns, but what I am worried about is the animations, in both combat, and movement. The running animation in the early bit of the trailer just looks dumb, and the melee animations could definitely be better, the overhead swing specifically.

Then bringing in Hit Detective for this game was a deal breaker for me. And no way the story needs to be changed and that’s all they had to do is just update the game, graphics, and camera angles with quality of life. Now you have a group of people changing the story for the 1% of people

I'll be a brand new audience member for this series so I'm excited nonetheless

It'll prolly be alright good enough to satisfy our fan base. The only problem that blooper team has in my opinion is their games are really short. So hopefully is not short. Angela's model kinda looks different that I seen. Silent hill 2 she was 19, now she looks way older. But it be okay, we all hope.

They have the blueprints from the original game and they have seen the resident evil remakes as inspiration so I think they have a solid foundation to approach the development of the game. People are always gonna be mad about something, you cant please everyone.

Bro, if you loved 1 & 2, there's no reason not to play SH3 as well. After being torn between 1 & 3 for more than 15 years, I've finally concluded that I prefer it to 1. The first 3 are all very similar to each other, so why not play 3, too?

Idk as a fan I’m just excited it’s coming out. I think I’ll be able to look past it’s flaws. I think as long as it stays true I’m good.

I don't have a problem with Angela's new design, though she does look lower quality than the other characters, almost like she belongs to the late PS3 era of games. Hopefully they iron that out. However I do have a problem with Maria's new design and how they toned down her looks. Maria is supposed to be "pretty". Her face looked very sultry and gave a seductive and confident "lady of the night" vibe in the original game. The new Maria, while not ugly, looks more "cute", kind of like a stereotypical soccer mom type. Combine that with the more modest clothing and the new Maria just throws a huge wrench into the underlying tones and sexual themes of the story. She was supposed to be objectified and a sexual fantasy because she's not even real, she's a literal creation by the force of Silent Hill straight from Jame's sexually frustrated mind. It's also why the nurses and mannequin leg creatures were provocative in nature in the original game.

I think everyone is whining too much. I like getting remakes, but man i am so tired of all the whining that comes with it.

I'll tell you what's going on. Imagine RE2 1998, and you have have enough evidence that you're afraid that in the remake, you don't know if Leon is gonna have a thing with Ada or with Hunk. That you're uncertain that if Hunk works for Umbrella or if he's a cop. Remember, this is a remake, not a re-imagining. That's how it is.

My thing is. I want to play games that are fun not so much if they have good graphics. I’ve played shitty games that’s had amazing graphics

It looks like a mid tier indie game. Sure it doesn't look terrible, but It still looks pretty bad. It looks like another alone in the dark clone. And that game was straight hot trash. You can tell SH2 definitely cut corners in its production. Sadly this is a pass for me. Sucks i really like the atmosphere and lore of silent hill. But im starting to see why they fell off a long time ago.

Yeah, I never liked the controls of the original, so I gave up pretty quickly, but the remake oh yeah, I am going to play it.

I will be brutally honest Konami wants this to fail to rip people off. They are obviously more invested in their casino business. I am mixed on the art design, I don't like the combat at all. I prefer combat to be optional like it was in the first three Silent Hill games. Silent Hill 2 Remake is going to be a major let down. I would be very surprise it turned out to be a great SH game. I highly doubt it on many things though. It's kinda sad Konami going so in on SH2, they are literately to screw over their own fans for money!!!

I don't think the new SH2 delivers the feel and vibe of the original SH2. Sorry. It just doesn't. Not sure what else to say. The new character designs look and act kinda ... wacky. No offense to the actors, as there are other elements playing into this machine of course. (3D Artists, Directors etc )

The latest Silent Hill 2 Remake transmission cleared most of my doubts about this remake. It looks incredible; they perfectly executed the same atmosphere, eerie vibes, and environmental details as in the original. The voice acting and character emotions are on point. So far, from what they’ve shown regarding combat, it looks very faithful to the original. James isn’t a combat veteran; he's always portrayed as a normal guy lost in this town in search of his wife. I’m really glad the Bloober Team developers kept the same jank and stiffness in the combat. I’m very excited for this remake. I’m cautiously optimistic about it, and I’m sure they’ll deliver it perfectly.

I don't care what some detractors say, with the latest gameplay shown Silent Hill 2 Remake looks much better, and I hope the final game is pretty good.

To give some context on the model controversy, people are complaining about the in game cutscenes model for Angela, and ignoring that the cinematic cutscenes model is amazing and we will see more of her cinematic model than the other, and Maria having less revealing clothing, so they think its some political agenda or something, its ridiculous and as a fan for over 10 years at this point, i can promise this remake is looking faithful and shocking me how good it looks actually, im super excited

I wish the follow the original costume designs and also fixing Angela plus fixing the nurse creature. 😕 they alter them completely.

I'm a bit cautious about the game but at the same time, I really do want it to be so good. I know Bloober doesn't have many fans but if the people behind the Rambo game are able to bounce high with their later efforts, I have faith that Bloober can do the same. If The Short Message has shown me, it's that Konami are willing to put aside their toxic ego for one minute just to give one of their beloved franchises another chance. A fair chance. But hey, if the game does end up crap with no shits given, I'll humbly take back what I said here.

Making or remaking games for a “modern audience” is the best way to ensure a game sells terribly.

Konami in general has other products that still need attention. Getsufumaden: Undying moon being one of them. The company hasn't been the best in a long time for reasons. These recent announcements are interesting, but Konami has an uphill battle. I'm surprised how wild Silent Hill is and never gave it a chance. Psychological horror is a rarity for me, I'll check out a playthrough on your channel on release day.

Only RE2 AND 4 remakes were masterpieces. I don't want them to ruin upcoming remakes like they did RE3. RE3 was rushed and it failed to live up to the standard compared to 2 and 4. Modern audience are basically us. It doesn't always mean young new generation who are woke etc. The game looks good to be honest, ive played the original game in 2001 when i was in high school, and i do like the "modern" remake of Silent Hill 2.

I was definitely off put by the 1st trailer, but after seeing the gameplay, im def day oneing it. Also you mistook passionate for toxic. There are people complaining about the size of the nurses breasts, reminds me of those same simps who complained about not being to see up ashleys skirt. Either way, im playing it.

I hope it's good. I'm just worried this game will treat us like children. With hand holdy gameplay. I'm fine with them changing things. It seems stiff, the vibe feels off, wish they didn't use real actors & instead took more artistic liberties to achieve a eerie somethings off sorta vibe. Hopefully they don't go the direction where they don't want to make people uncomfortable because this game is meant to make people uncomfortable. If they aren't okay with creating a uncomfortable inappropriate game then they really picked the wrong team to make a game such as this. There are ways many things can be changed and still hold the same core of this game. I hope they find ways to achieve that. (it is annoying how divided and out of control a lot of people are getting. I wish things weren't so weirdly political feeling but at the same time I wish there wasn't so much toxic positivity on the other end of the spectrum. Idk why it's so challenging for people to not take everything to this sorta place nowadays. It will be nice when this stuff chills out and we can get back to normal real life again lol)

This is nothing like faithful adaptation sorry. Look how they butchered characters. Those two ladies should look 1 to 1 with the original because this is tight in with the story very heavy. But when you see differend "monsters" this doesnt look anything like SH2. Sorry i will stick with original :)

Wokonami. Most of these companies are in bed with each other, peddling degenerate wokism in video gaming. It doesn't matter how long Konami has been out of the VG industry for. And Bloober Team is really stupid for desexualizing Maria and the feminine monsters, as the sex appeal is actually a part of Silent Hill 2's story concerning James Sunderland, in an organic and intelligent manner. The sexualizations in SH2 were never present just for the sake of having sexualizations. This is why alot of developers in triple A video gaming these days are political activist losers, and not artists. However, FromSoftware, Team Ninja, and Sucker Punch Productions are some of the few exceptions, as they have consistently put out banger titles. Without compromise. And yes, with one of the most important aspects, narrative, Capcom's Biohazard: RE2/Resident Evil 2 (2019) is a failure as a whole.

I never got to experience the original so I've been looking forward to this remake. The fact that all these "fans" are outraged over some woman's eye brows and think a 22 year old, outdated game is better is why no one takes gamers seriously anymore.

Silent Hill 2 (Original) is one of my favorite games... I saw the footage and trailers. This did nothing for me. Nothing about it looks creepy, scary, atmospheric...it just looks generic.

It's not the gameplay it's the fact that bloober has bent the knee to DEI woke activsm and employed a consultation group that thinks a modern audience exists.

I personally hate how everyone's dogging on Angela. Like people who aren't even Silent Hill fans are criticizing her face based on one shot from the graveyard scene and try to call it out as woke, even though it's probably an unfinished part of the cutscene. LTRE definitely check out Silent Hill 3 some day, but the original version not the HD collection. The original release has the better voice acting. Heather Mason is by far the best protagonist in the series.

I don’t know why Konami didn’t remake this or why it was given to blooper team. Honestly it looks like a fan remake.

The biggest mistake they made is greenlighting the project hahaha. But for real though, i think it'll be good but nothing spectacular. Maybe a 7.7/10. The OG will always be a 10/10 for me.
