A lot of people don’t like this movie because there is not much action, but it’s actually one of my favorites. you get to see what actually goes into a rebellion and the strength of the people by organizing and sacrificing themselves for a better future. The acting by jennifer lawrence was amazing.

agree, this is actually my second favourite Hunger Games movies after Catching Fire. the story in this is so good and so emotional, for it's crime that Jennifer Lawrence didn't won or at least nominated for an Oscar for her acting in this movie, it's so good. this Mongkinjay Part 1 remind me so much of Andor tv series which is for me the number 1 best Star Wars tv series. i like that we see the more behind the scene of a Rebellion, the propaganda and all, than having the main character became Mary Sue fighting in the Frontline. it's far mote realistic this way. like in real life, many unknown nameless soldiers and freedom fighter die so the Rebellion can survive, those people from District 5 that attack the dam so the Capitol lose power source and electricity.

This reminds me of my country - Ukraine now fighting an enormous bloody monster called Russia. So many fallen in the war, so many dead civilians (including children). Watching all the saga gives me chills and reminds me too much of reality. I wish it was only an anti utopian movie saga.😢

"I just don't want them change me. Turn me into something I'm not. I just don't want to be another piece in their game. If I'm gonna die, I wanna still be me." Peeta's words in the first movie were such a tragic foreshadowing. More than death he didn't want to lose himself. He didn't want the Capitol to change him into something he wasn't and that was exactly what they did. What Snow did to Peeta is, imo, one of the more tragic things to happen in this trilogy.

Lovely reaction. I know this one is dark and heavy. But I feel as though these books/movies actually care about character development, morality and are true to their theme. They show trauma. They show how you "can never go home." (Reclaim your innoncence.) They show the horrors of war and how, ultimately, both sides propogandize and exploit people...always. After seeing these, you realize what is possible with storytelling. Watching other action movies, where a normie is supposed to suddenly become a hero, kill people and be fine at the end. They feel trite and shallow.

As amazing as the start of the rebellion against President Snow was, it was strange to see Effie without all her flamboyance, when we see them in District 13.

13:17 "We may be able to target her." That would make her a _martyr_ for the revolution which is an act President Snow is not about to _approve._ This is a key _rule_ about this franchise. Katniss remains alive because President Snow _can't_ just come right out and _kill_ her.

The hospital was already bombed. The bomber Katniss hit was heading to bomb again but didn’t crash into the hospital.

The movie was super unclear about it. Just the weird angles and so many things looking alike--a lot of viewers who didn't read the book assume that the planes crashed into the hospital, which tells me it's the fault of the film, not the viewer.

17:23 "I saw a coward." "You don't have any _idea_ what he's _going_ through." "I don't care. I would _never say_ what he just said." You don't know that, Gale. You _really_ don't know that. You have _no_ business standing in judgement of how someone handles a situation _you've_ never been in. Prior to Operation Desert Storm, Iraq, under the leadership of Saddam Hussein, invaded and occupied Kuwait. The US mobilized for war without delay, and within a few weeks, had successfully driven Hussein's forces back _out,_ again. But in the course of that brief conflict, a few US soldiers ended up _captured_ by the Iraqi military and shortly showed up on locally-broadcast _TV_ stations, speaking out _against_ the US-led invasion. These troops, though, when they returned home, did _not_ face judgement or negative consequences for these acts, because the US _understood._ They'd been _coerced._ These were not their _words._

In catching fire, when katniss spins in the wedding dress that snow ordered her to wear it turns from what snow wanted into defiance on cinna's part destroying what snow wanted to express, then turning katniss into the mockinjay on live t.v,a very huge foreshadowing of what's to come

The rescue isn't ever as interesting to me as Finnick talking about the Snow and the Capital and just how horrific they are even to the Victors. His describing being forced into prostitution as a child and Snow's use of poison is so horrifying, but some amazing work from the actor.

20:52 _This,_ though, is where the tide turns. 20:55 "Katniss, are you there?" _Yes,_ Peeta! She's _alive!_ She's alive and she's where the Capitol cannot _reach_ her!

25:03 "They're _rescuing_ Peeta." I think you're being kind of premature in _revealing_ this to her, Haymitch. Would it not be preferrable just to wait until he's been successfully _rescued?_

2:23 "You left him there. You left Peeta." He's not the Mockingjay, Katniss. He's not the symbol of the revolution. This distinction has fallen on _you,_ whether you want it or _not._

I don’t get this movie and I can’t buy Jennifer L as a leader Mockingbird. Donald Sutherland played a good villain. MVP goes to Finnick.

I mean i shouldn't laugh at soldiers gunning down civilians, but i see it from the civilian side. There's a great scene in Chernobyl where 2 soldiers face about 100 coal miners and the foreman tells them to go ahead and shoot, because he has more men than they have bullets and anyone they can't kill will beat the piss outta them. And as any reasonable soldier should do, they do NOT fire on civilians. Because it really is a bad idea. It will not end well. And that's my opinion from a soldier's perspective. Ya don't do that. Or you deserve the ass kicking.

Howard. I remember his name. He turned and asked me if he could shoot civilians. I swapped places and made him sit in the armored truck. Told him I'd shoot him myself if he shot a civilian
