I randomly was suggested your videos, but stayed because of how much you care for these animals. Then one day my oldest saw your video while I was watching. His eyes got big and said “there’s a job other than having my own farm I can work with cows!” From then on he was hooked. The cow whisper inside him is super happy and he now looks forward to his “future career like Graham”

Yeah I’m always able to tell the differences too. I don’t really understand why other people aren’t seeing them. However I will be honest and say I volunteered at an animal shelter for multiple years. That may be why I can spot something off with an animal so quickly. That isn’t to say that sometimes it’s not an easy fix. I have pets with severe allergies. If my German Shepherd rolls in the wrong thing, I’ve had his hair fall out. The vet just looked at me and went why? She doesn’t understand why he insists on rolling in that same stupid bush. Quite frankly neither do I when it makes him itch that bad. He’ll pull you halfway across the field just for that same stupid bush.

I've always wondered how you could tell if it was detached or not. Now that you've given us a close up and pointed it out, I do see the difference. Thank you. Eta: where in the states are you going? Is a big place. If you're ever in PA I can offer you some tips on what to see in the Lancaster area. My dad used to work for the visitors bureau here. Of course the best advice is the simplest: Just turn off the GPS, get lost on the backroads for a bit and enjoy the scenery. You'll see plenty of Amish and Mennonite out working the fields.

@ariste01
@ariste01 2 года назад
@@rotwang2000 yeah. It's a really lovely area with a lot of rich history. Lancaster was even the capital of the nation for a day when the continental congress fled Philly. The people here... they're good people that would give you the shirt off their back in person, but there's a lot of unfortunate ideologies that have taken root and some people don't understand PA was part of the union. Breaks my heart but gotta be honest.
@EarthsGirl

Another tip for if you're visiting around Amish Country as we call it, visit the local farmer's markets! They sell all sort of treats that are hard to find anywhere.
@ariste01
@ariste01 2 года назад
@@EarthsGirl you gotta be here the right days though. Roots is only open Tuesday, green dragon is only open Friday, central market downtown is open Tuesday, Friday, and Sat, but it's not as big. Used to have Saturday's market up in Elizabethtown but they shut down last year. We went one of the last weeks just to say goodbye. I was just saying to my daughter yesterday I need to get to roots or green dragon for some meadow tea. Best drink for a hot summer.
@forgottenquill7063
@forgottenquill7063 2 года назад
It is a well-documented fact that MOST (not all) of the Amish use and abuse ALL their animals. They treat their draft horses like machinery, care little for the well-being of their livestock and routinely run puppy mills. For anyone who actually loves and cares for animals and their well-being, I wouldn't recommend you go anywhere near those people.

Took me a good few months of watching your videos but now I see the differences!

I had to double check, but yes I saw the difference in first the discolouration to the right of the exposed flesh (?) and then when you peeled back the horn and where it flowed away normal opposed to where it had been not connected to the hoof. Sorry if I got my terminology wrong! Thank you for taking the time to give instruction. Unexpected but great aspect to the video.

While you’ve educated even the casual observer to spot some of the most common reasons for lameness, there are still plenty of intricacies that are obvious to you but not the rest of us. Because you are a true professional and take your craft seriously. Even though there’s a camera around and you are basically hoof trimming royalty, your passion is helping make each hoof that comes through your crush as comfortable as possible. Thank you for including us on your journey. Yes we are entertained. But now also educated. Safe travels.

I too genuinely saw the difference to which you were referring. It’s only because of the education I’ve received through watching your videos. Keep up the amazing work Mr. Parker. Cheers from Venice Beach, California! 🌴

I'm a Software Quality VP with 0 years of experience in hoof trimming. I find your videos and diagnostic work with cows to be utterly fascinating (didn't intend the pun, but it was quite good, don't you think?? :0D. ). When I watch your videos, I try to diagnose either before you, or while you do, and I've been pretty good at having you confirm what I've seen. ;0). I was able to (mostly) see the color differences in the hoof trims you've done; and in this video. Love watching you work, and truly appreciate the teaching approach you have with the trims you do. If *I* can understand what you're doing and can successfully diagnose while you trim, its clear to me that you're doing a GREAT job. If and when you do come to the US, AND if you're near Chicago, IL., let me know. It would be wonderful to catch up!

I swear I learn something every single video! Thank you for all you do for these wonderful animals. I so love that you surround yourself with your family. Teaching them these skills, makes me so happy! Wow! You are heading to the USA? I would so love to meet you in the future. Your videos are so calming and informative. Even for a girl who has never been that close to a cow!
