We have moved 11 times and every time it gets that much more tiring. Lastime I slept 48 hours. It is however always exciting to get to a new place. Moving countries as we have done a few times is far more nail biting! I hope you will be happy in your new home! Onnea uuteen kotiin!

Was just going to make this comment too! … it’s a real problem stopping dogs peeing on our lovely lawns 🙈🥲 If you catch them doing it, you have to water it on that patch straight away or it just burns the grass

My dog also leaves yellow patches on the lawn.

I’d take a picture of her favorite view of the valley and blow it up to a large poster size … maybe by Shutterfly… and enjoy the view as if it was a window. A home needs a door, a kitchen sink and a place to make coffee, grilled cheese or an omelet; a place to put clothing, and a bed … then I’d call it okay to move in. ( “Induction burner” would suffice for immediate cooking needs.

Yes! A mirror above the sink giving an illusion of a window and make the room brighter. I’ve been thinking the same thing for Tara! I’m trying to talk my husband into putting one on the outside of his shed to make it look like a window!

While I admire John’s work ethic and creativity, I am not sure this move was necessary before the kitchen was done…a bit impulsive and Tara was graceful and empathetic and flexible indeed. I couldn’t help but cringe again and again, when this resulted in him steamrolling over her concerns (which are super-valid for a young Mom) and then to suggest she is “fragile” and “just being nostalgic” and poking fun at her “hippy” ideas etc. as she tries to adjust to your whim…honestly, it landed as so sexist and invalidating…if you had listened, you might have heard real practical concerns about having half your stuff in another home…instead, she’s gotta come help with the door when you realize you’ve been unplanned and the door frame didn’t fit. And the “you move the cushions”…being a bit of a bull is not leadership… leadership of a family starts with more than just making things…it’s also about attunement and sensitivity to your partner’s emotional needs and adjusting, being supportive rather than invalidating. You can be more respectful John…I know your intentions are good and you live your family but kindness requires awareness of one’s impact. Unless your wish is to dominate and hurt Tara’s self-confidence, I suggest you watch this video back and discuss it…or mark my words; you’ll be discussing it with a therapist years from now…
