Thank you for the well thought out video that actually gets good information. This also gives me a good idea since I'm doing the COVID-19 Preparedness Meeting. The amount of people who desperately want super duper face masks, but don't want to wash their hands is making me twitchy. I like the clean all the things idea, most people probably aren't thinking of touching a random droplet on their keyboard and then touch their eye.
Right?! I've considered taking it down but I think at this point it's another piece of media worth having as part of the historical record. Very much a snapshot of a particular place in time!
18 days later update: YOU SHOULD BE SHELTERING IN PLACE BY NOW. THIS COMMENT ALSO HAS CORRECTIONS AND UPDATES! - COVID-19 is the name of the disease that the virus causes, while the virus itself is called "SARS-CoV-2," and that stands for "Sudden Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Coronavirus-2," which is... *a mouthful*. - Facemasks aren't great protection, *not* because the aforementioned droplets are so small that they pass through (the virus is, but at this point it seems like it might not be a mostly airborne pathogen), *but rather* because airborne transmission isn't the thing you have to worry about as much as touching your face is. And it turns out that if you have a mask on, and you touch it after your hands are contaminated, you're getting the virus that much closer to your faceholes which is less than ideal. it's all very complex.
