I used to feel this way about metzen and samwise , remember elite tauren chieftain. Blizzard had this rockstar attitude once upon a time. FF14 devs carrying on the old blizz ways . Legends.
I only started playing xiv this year and honestly this was exactly my take on fan fest XD I'm 1000% converted to this game and the team and the community XD
We are the memories of a simpler time, getting home from school and trying to finally get past that one gamesection you are struggeling for 3 days. We are that one thing that remains untouched even after 30 years and more. We are the child who loves to daydream about all those cracy stories that one funny uncle always has to tell whom you only see maybe once a year. We are the Community and the devs are part of us. They love what they create at least as much as we do.

This convinced me to play the game. Not even joking. Update 2 Months later: Omnicrafter now who just finished Shadowwalker MSQ, fuck that was soo good. ARR is good, Heavansward is great, Stormblood was quite good, Shadowwalker is great and somehow manages to make Stormblood better in retrospect.

Dam I love the game dev team. You don't see this over near Acti-Blizzard...... let alone putting on a show free, taking in what the players want, and listening to them....
See, I see this, then I look at what has happened to all the Dev's and workers for Blizzard and think about all the years I spent playing WoW compared to the time I've spent playing this.... I made a huge mistake Q.Q
For a bunch of old guys who develop an online video game, they sure act like a bunch of rock stars! When you consider how amazing the FF14 community is, which is so amazingly rare in an online game, it's clear that having a good company with good people behind it all is very important.
I keep thinking of how that meeting must've played out. Koji: "Alright guys we need 4 people do to the meme dance during our concert live at fanfest, who's up for it? You get to keep the colored shirt"
