We travelled over to Cambridgeshire a couple of weeks ago to visit Eastern Farms, and got to chat with owner Charles Leadbetter who gave us an insight into how the business has snowballed to where it is today.

Fairplay for giving the young lad Dillon a mention, boss man seems to think of him highly as a worker. Nice to see guys being encouraging of the new lads trying to get into the industry or even just doing a bit of work if thats all they're looking for! Nice video lads and a mint operation 👍

Any Irish i know that have worked for harvest in England get treated very well. Treated better than at home in Ireland anyways.

Great Video Donkey Interesting how its difficult for Irishmen to get their head round rapid expansion I would also only for the fact that I have lived in western Australia for 30 Yrs and seen a few big operations that have jumped out of the ground over that time one property that I worked on was like 30,000 acres with 10 of grain , at the time running 2 combines a case and a Massey . They now run something like 60K acres not sure how many acres of grain Mr Leadbetter sounds like a lovely man and one could only wish him well Oh the rain never far away except in Oz

Charles seems to be a top bloke and it's great to see him employing young folk like Emma and Dillon. Do hope that you go back there another season and get Donkey to have a go in the 9RX! 👍

9rx is still 2nd to the case 620. Lots of transmission and aftertreatment issues on the 9rx. Its like deere didn't realize all the extra stress tracks put on a transmission. 9rx was sooo slow to shift even a grandma was faster. Not to mention the peak power on 9rx is 655. Case is 690!

Those farms are on a different plant compared to Scotland and alot of Ireland, the climate for a start, ground never gets wet and long growing season compared to Scotland and most of Ireland.

Yeah just snow balled a bit, from nothing to five jds, two 40ft combines and 5000 acres in 15 years of having the farm, if he calls that a snow ball I want to build a snowman then
