Many thanks for your kind words, we have recorded a series of videos on the Fenix 7 taking you through how you use it for walking (this one), hiking, cycling, walking whilst navigating a course, Ultra eventing (both walking and running) and also using it with an inReach device. These will come out every other Wednesday for the coming couple of months.
Excellent tutorial, good explanation of the menus & settings, thank you. Please can you tell me what Watch Face it is you are using at the start of this vid?
Hi thank you, the watch face was just one of the standard pre-loaded Garmin Digital faces and I change a Databox and the background to white directly on the watch, we hope this helps
HI - Hope you don't mind me reaching out but I would appreciate some guidance. - I'm considering purchasing a Garmin smart watch for the first time. Key for me is battery life and maps as I am getting a little tired with getting my phone out during hikes. Considering the Fenix 7X Pro? I know the Epix has a brighter screen but I think I can manage with the 51mm Fenix screen. I hike in the UK and the French Alps and am interested in knowing if I plan a route on an OS map in the UK how would that look like on the Garmin/ I assume you would just upload from Garmin Connect? as I said the main thing for me is battery life and mapping/navigation and coverage in France is key also - your help will be much appreciated. Jon.
Jon, These videos will hopefully help you - - Walk and talk - Garmin Fenix 7 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IsKRJcOox1Y.htmlsi=GrfqB5RTiD6dYLer - Walk and talk - Epix - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-70vldKb5yYc.htmlsi=Pyix3Ct4QG00sUml I appreciate they are not the pro versions, but the functionality on each is exactly the same. If you have any questions after watching the videos please do come back to me.
Hi apologies we had missed your message, when you record the activities on your Garmin Fenix watch and save and sync them with the Connect app the app will display an estimate of Resting calories & Active Calories burned, we hope this helps, Kind regards GPS Training
Thank for this. Is scrolling down once you’ve started the walk the only way to see the map ? Was struggling with buttons to bring up the map and seems the only place it shows is when you start an activity and the gps locks.. if you click options at the very top it says “use map” but if you do, it throws you out of the activity.
How can I save my modified layout so it automatically goes to it each time I open up my activity? Every time I go to my activity, it defaults right back to the basic layout.
Thanks for your question, sadly out tech team don't have access to RU-vid questions. If you bought your watch from us, or have one of our support packages please just contact our tech team via email/ telephone.
When you first switch on your watch you set up which activities you are wanting, then at here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qI2RuRFZyi4.html - we take you through changing the data fields, so you can change them to your personal requirements. I hope this helps.
Hi thanks for that I have looked at that, what I want to do but cannot figure out how is how you get the grid reference on the hot key as you demonstrated, any help would be appreciated.
Please accept my apologies but we can't give personal training over RU-vid. In our full online training course we have a video taking you through this (over 70 training videos in total on the fenix 7 watch) - gpsonlinecourse.co.uk/ - I hope this helps.
My only thoughts are - 1. Have you got a satellite signal? 2. Have you set the tracking away? 3. Do you need to zoom in on the map? If these don't help, and you bought the watch from us (GPS Training) and/ or you have one of our support packages please just call our tech team - 01669 621044 and they will help get you sorted or swap the watch if it needs to be replaced.
