He was apart of my childhood and was around during the height of power rangers in my life, he will be missed dearly.

He risked everything to save another person from danger. He carried out his ranger duties even in real life.

The BEST Battlizer imo not only because it was well deserved and had a nice story behind how it was earned but it kicked ass! RIP Pua :(

I didn’t know this...this news hit pretty freaking hard. My younger brother and I always remember Ninja Storm as such a badass series. The Red Ranger was my brothers favorite character. I know we won’t ever forget this great season

Ninja Storm was one of the first seasons of PR I grew up with. I always thought he was one of the coolest and one of the most capable leaders of a team like Carter, Jason, Tommy, or Wes. I felt like he was a pretty underrated red ranger. He will always be one of my favorite red rangers. And I'll miss him very much.

I am at a loss of words, he was so young, he was hellishly attractive, he left 2 children, he was charismatic, he was here, but now he's not. What a loss, RIP.

I didn't watch ninja storm when it was the current season due to transitioning from high school to college around that time feeling like I "outgrew" power rangers but went back later down the line and binged the entire season, while still not personally one of my favorite series it was a well put together story of three misfits that grow to become one of the more memorable teams of the franchise. Terrible circumstances, but a great analysis and a great tribute. Ninja Storm is and has always been my favorite Power Rangers season so when this news broke, it hurt more than I would have expected.

On 18 December 2019, a name suppression order was lifted, revealing that Pua Magasiva had been convicted of domestic assault against his wife in April, 15 days before his death. Pua was sentenced to 70 hours of community work, and six months of supervision. According to his widow, he had engaged in a regular pattern of abuse, concussed her three times, and threatened to harm her, himself, or their daughter, if she went to the police. She claimed to have later found a diary belonging to him showing "pages... full of haunting images, tortured thoughts and self-loathing" and admitting that he had always been violent and angry. On 11 May 2019, Pua Magasiva died of a suspected suicide in a hotel room in Wellington. His widow stated that he attacked her in a drunken rage the night he died. Im pretty sure he wont ever been heard from again from PR.

What an amazing review.....it’s so sad that he’s gone man...but he was an amazing guy, and my heart goes out to his family, Pua will be remembered for hopefully many things, a ninja, a ranger, and a real life hero ❤️

I WATCHED THE SAME EPISODE WHEN I FOUND OUT!!! Then I saw this, he was one of the biggest impacts in my life, I watched his season when I was younger and always loved him, i'm still a fan today and i'm so sad to hear he passed. Rest in Peace Pua, you were awesome!!!

Pua was my favorite ranger growing up, even his shows after Ninja storm had be feeling happy! We truly lost a great soul, RIP to a great man!

Magasiva was the OG, and I hope the power protects him in the afterlife. Ninja Storm came out in my birth year and therefore is important to me because of that, and so are the people who helped make it happen, including the now-deceased Grant McFarland.

I grew up with Samurai and Megaforce, but watching Ninja Storm, Shane is always my favorite red ranger. When I heard about Pua’s death, I thought people were playing a cruel joke until I saw his costars posting tributes on Instagram. Oh, how I wish he could return to us! RIP Pua and may the power protect you forevermore! Losing my favorite red ranger really feels like a knife straight through the heart! Instead of people complaining about his dark side, how about we focus on the good that he’s done for us! I mean, pulling a man out of a burning car proves that Pua was the type of man who would help you with a flat tire in the middle of the night, he wasn’t selfish! He cared about other humans, so how about we focus on the good that he did instead of worrying about his dark side because we all have those! So, again, may you Rest In Peace Pua Magasiva!!

Shane was never my favorite ranger, but he was one of the first ones I was introduced to as a little kid, and I really did like him in Ninja Storm. I, like a lot of us here, am really going to miss him. Sayonara, Pua, and may the power protect you.

I grew up with Ninja storm, it was my first season of power rangers. Pua was what Jason was to others who grew up with MMPR. He also was one of the best red rangers in the franchise. I don't think I can really be able to watch ninja storm again. RIP Pua.

I remeber when I first saw Ninja Storm, specifically return of thunder. That was my introduction to Power Rangers. Shane, Pua Magasiva's character was my favorite, and when I looked him up, I found out Pau was an awesome guy, and I'm genuinely sad to hear he's gone. My heart just broke when I heard the news... Godspeed, Pau. I'll never forget you...

I grew up on MMPR with the legendary 6 and continued to watch the series all the way to space. I gave up on PRs during galaxy and never looked back. When I was in high school Ninja storm was airing and when I saw Pua as the red ranger I thought to myself what a joke really. Later I decided to give the show a chance and I absolutely loved it and Shane was my favorite character/red ranger and I felt so so bad for my initial opinion/assumptions. When I found out that there were PR conventions I wanted to go to one to meet him and tell him this but to most importantly apologize to him in how I was judging a book by its cover. I was devastated as a fan of his to hear what happened to him and know I would never get a chance to say I’m sorry and it sucks. If this is punishment then I deserve it.

In 2014, i tweeted to Pua saying that it sucks that he wasn't going to be apart of Super Megaforce, i was a HUGE fan of him as the red wind ranger. Next day i found out he liked the tweet and ended up following me. It shows how awesome he was to his fans.

He was an excellent example of the characters he played influencing him as much as he influenced them. Sometimes it is hard, or even impossible, to separate a character from the actor that portrayed them in the entertainment industry, and even the fan base. But the best examples of actors and their relationship with the characters they played are those that looked back at the characters they saw and heard were inspirational and aspired to show those same characters were as much an extension of them even after they had wrapped up the role, as a way of showing they never really left that role behind them and were proud of the fact they had that role in their life. We often hear of cases of past rangers aspiring to continue the legacy of the rangers they were, both on and off the screen, and Pua Magasiva is one of many past rangers who just showed that he was worthy of the position of a ranger off the screen more than any time he was on it. More often than not, the true heroes that are worthy of praise get little to no attention for the acts of good they do for others, and most don't really care if they get noticed and praised for doing the right thing, they are just happy to be helping others whenever and wherever they can. Publicized heroes are important, they give us something to aspire towards, but even more important on the heroes who are unsung because they did everything to help others and were/are perfectly fine with not getting attention or rewards. If you're going about playing hero expecting to get attention, glory, and various other rewards then you aren't really being a hero, you're just playing at being a hero and are, in all likelihood, a villain with a good sense of publicity. Almost all the best rangers have been heroes that were fine with being anonymous, sometimes were even inspired to greater acts of heroism because of their anonymity, because they knew that every time they went out and did their acts of heroism that it could be anyone in the suit and helmet and were honored that it was them that got the chance to be a ranger. And in a sense, many of the best prior rangers have expressed similar sentiments in their words and chose to continue acting as the rangers they portrayed even after they had hung up their helmets.

Shane is in my top five favorite red rangers. Shane's Karma is my all time favorite battlizer episode. To me, it proved why he was chosen to be the red ranger. On a side note, I think Shane grew even more than Casey. RIP Pua. You will be greatly missed.

When I saw the thumbnail, I knew how this would go. Shane was definitely one of the best Red Rangers and his actor did a great job portraying him.

His death literally crushed me, Ninja Storm was the power rangers series I watched I have a dvd of Ninja Storm and I remember when I was 5 I would watch Ninja Storm and then after I finished it after like 3-5 months I would re-watch it again after I finished the PR series I was watching. Pua Magasiva was one of my heroes and I always wanted to be a ranger like him, hope I could have met him sooner but life never stops moving, it always moves forward. Goosbye Pua, my childhood hero

Shane's Karma is undoubtedly and undisputedly the best Battlizer story arc in Power Rangers history. In the season finale, Shane says "We may not be Power Rangers, but we still have Power." Shane's Karma shows exactly that. Shane earned Skyla's power by being the kind of person he was. Skyla knew Shane was special since he was a boy. Shane earning her power had nothing to do with being the Red Ranger, a Ranger in general or even being a Ninja in training. Shane simply was the kind of person worthy of her torch. It is that power, we all can have. Shane was always a Top Tier Red Ranger for me and Pua's passing hurt me way more than I expected it to. R.I.P. Rest in Power.

I just watched the Shane's Karma two parter for my binge of the entirety of Ninja Storm (along with other PR seasons) and I thought it was pretty good because of how deep it would get when Skyla passed her power down to Shane (out of anybody in the whole universe) and then he goes all out with his battilizer (although I don't love the design, I don't hate it as much as Andros' and I will also say that Shane earning the battilizer was actually well earned). Just watching this video post that watch gave me chills just knowing that Pua passed away and how much of an impact he left on you guys who've watched this show before I did and it's very touching. I do hope that he's found peace with power protecting him

I was a personal fan of Ninja Storm, I enjoyed the self awareness of it and how they seemed to not take it too seriously for the most part, but taking it just seriously enough to make the big moments matter. But, honestly, even if you're not a fan of Shane or even Pua, 38 years old is no age to die. RIP to one of the most underrated red rangers.
