Paging Graham Parker! You know you’ve been watching the Hoof GP too long when I watch this and think, I hope she doesn’t have digital dermatitis, a white line abscess, or any loose or overburdening horn.
Just simply overgrown and arthritic. We don’t see much of the issues that dairy cows do, as they spend a lot of time on concrete and ours live their entire life in sandy grassy soft paddocks. Cheers!
OMG, I literally giggled out loud (I’m reading this at 2:59am. Yes, we wouldn't want that would we? Unless that would make him stay longer and we could just stare at him while he spoke softly with that delicious Scottish accent. *sigh* Then we might be rightly accused of spreading a mild case of digital dermatitis to the entire herd just so he had to come back and check on the “lassies.” But I digress..... 😉😍🤣
Graeme just posted doing a Highland Cow for a older couple today, showed the cracking inside the older foot. He Did put on a block. All gentle, and then comes Dr Enoch and the sack of potatoes method. Funny.
We had 5 of these beautiful beasts for a long time and they were such a joy to have. Different to look at and a great temperament. Loved having them around the house paddock. Thanks for sharing Love your work
You covered the dancing shoes. Nothing beats a new pair of athletic shoes for a saunter around the field. She got a lovely trim and we got another lesson. Thank you so much.
That cow is absolutely adorable!! You two, haven’t you ever heard of a bucket with some treats before you rope a poor girl and throw her on the ground!! Really gentleman I expected more! 🤣🤣🤣🤣💜
Hahaha... I know that's always been my preferred treatment before a pedicure! A bucket 🪣 of treats.... 😋 Yum....the whole rope thing, ah,not so much....
Is it wrong that I just want to take the old girl home and make a big dog out of her? Highland cows are so docile and quiet, I just love them. They're my favorite aside from Jersey cows. I had to laugh though when you dropped her, she went down like a sack of potatoes and didn't move a muscle, which nothing like a holstein or an Angus! I'm sure she felt like a new beast though when her trim was finished!
Love those cattle. Hagweena, ye'll be much more comfortable when this whistling yank leaves. Haggis is murmuring to ya. The Hoof GP will refer you to a grinding blade. You're a hoot, thanks.
She really didn't argue with you about putting the rope around her or even tipping her. She didn't really seem to argue with you much about staying down, except for those couple of tender footed front claw clips. I'm not sure that you really needed the rope to keep her down, I wanted to cuddle up (with a brush) with the beauty. I think youtube.com/@TheHoofGP would be proud if ya. Lol.
Not every cow will let you just trim them while eating. That’s the most gentlest way I’ve ever seen a cow taken down. And them handle bars she’s sporting
Cette vache de race écossaise est vraiment magnifique!!!! Ce véto est sympa , doux avec les animaux, il les aime et c'est important pour exercer le métier..
In 2015 I had to have an IVC Filter placed in my main vein to catch blood clots. They do this using all types of equipment, some of which rotate around your body at very close proximity (read: barely inches), while simultaneously taking X-rays to make sure the filter is placed properly.
I was waiting to see someone mention that. This way of doing it is barbaric. Wrong grinder... No nail snips and no razor... what a train wreck... and went into the quick. Poor girl
@@jennicall1 watching a few videos on RU-vid, doesn't make you a hoof trimming expert. Enoch does a bloody good job, under difficult circumstances. He doesn't trim enough animals to justify the cost of trimming crush, that would likely get shaken to bits on the Aussie roads anyway. So he uses farm crushes that aren't designed for trimming or does something like this.
Dear sir , due to all respect I have for you just a suggestion whatever the cattle is standing or it's on the ground like you have done is that to never stand behind the back of it's legs you never know it's out of my experience to what happened to me am telling this but with all the respect to your experience you may have reason for standing at it's back legs . excuses me if am wrong.
What, and wait another month while they ship a trimmer into that part of the world? Hoof GP would say, "he did a bloody good job in sub-optimal conditions".
@@EnochtheCowVet out of respect he'd probably never critique you. As a joke, if you were mates, all over it. You're amazing with the animals; always kind and gentle (if you can be), which is why I watch every time a video cones out. Ignore my dry humor, not everyone gets it. I didn't mean to offend you.
Graeme, (the hoof GP, Gabe me a shout out a couple of weeks ago, pretty cool, he is awesome! His feet are very different to what we contend with here, and hoof work is around 1/2 of 1% of my work. Our cows don’t live in slurry like dairy cows in wet climates luckily! Cheers mate!
