Herrmann recruits Stella and Otis into sponsoring a tough mudding competition to help promote Molly's. Boden confronts his former wife's new boyfriend-whom he confirmed abused his stepson-and faces department consequences for defending his stepson. Dawson learns Casey kept his grief over the dying boy quiet so as not to disrupt her family's party.
