Still loving that Sydni Kristen, that fabric just sings in that dress. We have a few cross overs in patterns on the make list. I do t do a make nine but I ticked off at least 5/6 on my wish list. You’ll love the trinni expansion, I’m still yet to make my second. Be sure to check your bodice length measurements, that’s the main area I need to fix, raising the waist. This was a really great way to approach the whole make nine challenge. I find I’m always thinking a need a plan but then get distracted by shiny things. So while 8 haven’t made a “formal” make 9,I decided to make a list of skills/ outcomes I’m aiming for. One of those to make at least one from the stash of AO patterns I have previously had printed! Great choices Kristen. You have a few good mix and match items there too. I like the Kalle, but will hold off buying it till the next release. I had a make 9 list for last year, but only got three items made. I got distracted with new releases and new fabrics, so this year I have made a Capsule Curator Journal with photos of patterns and fabrics, and chose a base colour to work all the garments together. Its been a mammoth project cataloguing my stash and patterns, and narrowing it down to what order I want to make them. Ive ended up with a work capsule wardrobe and a casual capsule wardrobe.

Love your choices Kristen. These are all patterns I’ve never made too! The Lyra in particular appeals to me. I might try and make a version for next spring / summer. Looking forward to seeing how you go with your Make 9 throughout the year. 😊

Quite different to what I was expecting. I love Assembly Line patterns so my top pick would be the V-Neck Cuff Top. I have made a few of the Cuff Tops and it was such a pleasure to sew.

Thanks Kristin for a great Make 9 video, I like your choices, I have just cut our my sixth Kalle tunic and they all look different, some shirt style and some popover tops. I have also made the Moss jacket, it was a great fit but unfortunately the fabric was too heavy and didn't suit, although I will try again. I deliberated on doing a Make 9 this year but decided I would, mine consists of basic items such a a winter dressing gown and nighty. I have also included some challenges such as the Marni with the pin-tucking (but no frills), a hack of the Hope dress adding pin tucks to the front bodice and a pair of Allegro pants.

Love your plans, thank you for the reminder about the Moss jacket. It’s such a useful pattern but never seems to make it to the top of my list. I must make one soon x

An interesting make 9. I have made the Kalle shirt dress, but don't like the fit on the shoulders for me. I love the Lyra and would also like to make it myself. I have just purchased and printed the Trinnie (not the expansion pack) and hope to make for work before the end of the summer. And I am loving the Pillar Jacket. I had not seen that pattern before, but it is a very stylish jacket. I look forward to seeing your version of these makes.

Another inspirational video Kristen - the Moss jacket is also one I have had on my to do list for a long time. My favourite pattern last year was the Pilar jacket - I made multiple - 3 for myself and some for friends - mostly out of a light weight denim - the Lady McElroy one I got from you is good but I'm about to make another one in a medium weight linen. It's a fun make and quite a quick make - I love the way Andrea made hers with a Liberty print yoke. I made a couple with the pleat but think I prefer it without - think the pleat would be better in a lighter weight fabric. I also keep looking at the Assembly line cuff top but not fond of seams down the front - not sure why!

Hi Kristen. I love your make nine. What a great idea. I have loads of these patterns that I also haven't yet made. I am also very curious about the Lyra Dress. I like that it has the skirt without the tiers. I love tiers but I'm so sick if sewing them😅. My last make nine was a complete failure. This year I've chosen more practical items and in the past that has worked better for me. I don't think it matters if you don't make them all. I think it's just fun to see everyone's tastes and hear about different patterns also how they work out differently. I have to say your dress is gorgeous and you look so pretty in it today. I really enjoyed this video ❤❤

Great plans - love your Sydni shirt dress and that fabric -you have persuaded me to buy it. I know what you mean about getting the AO patterns printed straight away (I am also guilty of doing that).

A wonderful choice of patterns, Kristen. The Lyra and Marnie are both on my to do list. I know what you mean about the ruffles on the Marnie but Sally from Secret Life of a Seamstress has done the most beautiful version without ruffles which I am blatantly going to copy. I have made the Kalle shirt and the Pilar Jacket both of which I love. I think the Pilar is my proudest make so far. It fits perfectly apart from the sleeves which I will need to shorten a little for the next version. I bought some red denim from you several months ago to do that but haven't got round to it yet. Your hair looks lovely.

Fantastic make 9, and the assembly line cuff top and sew over it wrap would be my fav. I,m in Eden New South Wales,coming back from Melbour ( got to visit the Tessutti fabric shop, bought many patterns,fabulous place) and heading back to the Gold Coast) I loved the Assembly line cuff top on Phoebe, it’s a winner.👍👍👍☺️☺️

Very interesting Make9 and very varied. I think having a plan for the Challenge is the way to go and not just a random 9 articles. Last year I made 5 out of my 9 - but I had just started sewing after a very long break [over 30 years] and just picked a few patterns I'd thought about. This year I followed Sewing Bunny's formula of 3 lines - so 3 Repeats /3 from the Big 4/3 second chance [carried over from last year!] - the Kalle Shirt was in last year's Make 9 as was the Montana dress and Toni dress by Style Arc. I've already completed 2/9 this year : Kitt Dress [knit] and Sydney Dress both by Style Arc.I have the 3rd repeat ready to sew. So obviously the Repeat line is the easiest ! Would love to hear how you get on. I am making other patterns as well but feel quite virtuous that I've already made an indentation into the Plan. I do like the Helen's Closet jacket and might make that myself.

Will you ever have your monthly boxes on subscription like Andrea from Beyond The Pink Door does?? I would be really keen for that, and if would take the time difference issue away completely 😊
