Rong came from a very prominent family of a public listed real estate developer in Malaysia. Used to play basketball with him in Primary school. Glad to see him rocking it 👍👍

makes sense, as the opportunity to study in london and san francisco is only for the born privilege, it is much easier to be a young entrepreneur with a leg up from a wealthy family

MyTeksi started in MY, applied for grant from MY for $10M USD, took forever because of "various reason" (funny how they shell out RM1.2 billion for 1MDB shares but $10M USD on a growing tech company is high risk). MyTeksi was rebranded to Grab and got many more investments and grants than they asked for in SG (some VCs are wary to invest in a Malaysian company for some specific reason). And this is just the surface, there's even more stories to tell behind closed doors. All in all, they don't want you to succeed at all, they just want short-term returns because there's not enough to share.

It’s easier to access capital and talent base in Singapore. Facts. Not feelings. There is no feelings to be involved in making decision. If you haven’t make it don’t bother “helping”.

I appreciate the bold statement about remote working. However, I have almost never seen someone that is truly genuine about that. At first, they were very open to remote working. And then due to any reasons, they became to demonize remote working. I am the living proof of that. I have been jumping jobs because I am only able to work remotely. The issue was not on me, but on the policy changes. When my companies started to abolish WFH policy, that's the time I need to find other jobs.

@hiproton4260 I guess one can only pursue their dreams wholeheartedly with a strong safety net to fall back on and a full stomach to walk on the lonely path. Nevertheless, innate talents and abilities are still required to stand out in the crowd and do great things given the advantages provided.
