A Man Called Ove Official Trailer 1 (2016) - Rolf Lassgård Movie
59 year old Ove is the block's grumpy man who several years earlier was deposed as president of the condominium association, but he could not give a damn about being deposed and therefore keeps looking over the neighborhood with an iron fist. When pregnant Parvaneh and her family moves into the terraced house opposite and accidentally backs into Ove's mailbox it turns out to be an unexpected friendship. A drama comedy about unexpected friendship, love and the importance of surrounding yourself with the proper tools.

never understood why people say the book was depressing! I admit that I cried when I read the book! But it gave me hope! It showed me true love, showed me that you don't know a person until you see what they have inside of their heart! Book showed me that maybe their is a darkness in the society but you can find much more light in everywhere!

Some people can't handle the truth of the reality we live in and therefore they do not possess the ability to see light even tho there seems to be only darkness around. The movie portray one of the most emotional burden humans can have on their shoulders and most people do not want to tackle that, instead they ignore it.

this is a great story. i, for one, did cry after watching it. he has gone enough hardships to be closed hearted like he is on the entire movie but he slowly opened up when the new neighbors moved in and didn't gave up on him and realized that he is actually a very loving and caring person deep inside. this is a MUST-SEE / WATCH movie.

Nice film. It's nice to see examples of how, no matter how unhappy one may be, even if one's life is no longer of value to the person living it, one can still be of benefit to others, can still intercede for good, and can still make use of one's life by making an effort to care for others. The writing, story, acting, cinematography, and score are all well done. Rolf Lassgård did an outstanding job, as did Bahar Pars. I'd like to see more of both of them.

I relate to Ove. It's hard for me to trust others, but I 100% trust my partner, my companion, my rock. I have friends, but I don't trust anyone as I trust my dear lover. I've been married before, and it didn't work. And thanks to that relationship, I learned what to seek in a partner. The way he smiles when he sees others experiencing happiness. The way he protects me even when I don't ask him to. The way he goes the extra mile to help me when he doesn't have to. He's such a good person. A heart of gold.

Hannes Holm's seriocomical Swedish hit, "En man som heter Ove" was heartwarming and compelling to watch. Rolf Lassgård gave a smashing and ebullient performance, both stylistically and thematically, in portraying a morose and obdurate 'Ove', a character that is overly imbued with a scowling look, laconic phrases and wry humor. With emotion-evoking and sparking scenes throughout the movie, director Holm is adeptly and skillfully able to bring an endearing and life-affirming message of jois de vivire that can be found in the most unlikely places in life. ★★★★
