chael i know you usually dont reply to youtube comments, but have you seen yesterday on twitter how i arranged a streetfight with this guy ysterday and he didn show up? cuz i showed up to the set location 30 minutes earlier, with my hands wrapped and a mouthpiece and he didnt show up , and i then mocked him for beeing a chikcen? its just seems to much of a coincidence that literally this happened to me yesterday and you make a vid about it
@@eriklarson9137 Name a single one with a single host lol. All of them are edited and cut up to some degree, because there is no reason for it not to be. I'm not even a Chael fan, I was just amazed about what he can do
@@benthicdaddyaskren9827 it’s my coach I love it🤣 they kind of said the story wrong. This guy hits up my coach talking about all the time he did in prison beating people up saying he has anger issues. He drives an hour pulls up on my coach alone In his gym then the video happened😂
Chael reminds me of a weatherman, gets the predictions wrong most of the time but never apologises the next night and carry’s on like nothing happened, throw politician in with that
The gracies did lose those many times and they also went back with several guys and fucked up the guy 4 on 1. Even went to jail for it. Oswaldo Faddah's gym also beat the gracies with all foot locks. It's part of what gave birth to their distain to foot locks.
You know it's gonna be a good video when Chael has Dojo in the thumbnail, magic spoon sponsored episode and leg crossing/uncrossing all video. (I counted about 13 leg position changes.)
This was my coach. The man was telling the coach about all his time in prison beating people up😂 drove and hour to him and walked in saying he’s going to woop his ass. Then that happened
Really Ken shemrock,Dan severn both outweighed Royce gracie by a lot and both lost to him.High level wrestling with decent jiu jitsu will beat jiu jitsu but wrestling alone will not.Just watch ben askren vs maia.Only when wrestlers use their wrestling defensively and strike they can beat bjj specialist.I wrestled throughout high school and have been doing bjj for 3 years from my own experience i would say pure bjj beats pure wrestling
@@Mma-ig5ew Didn’t weidman beat Maia, and usman, and like 10 other wrestlers? And the askren fight was very competitive, and askren also has competed at a high level in BJJ. So your entire point in mute.
@@Mma-ig5ew yeah no I've been wrestling since 5th grade and bjj is the runner up to wrestling. Look at khabib he's the best wrestler on earth and nobody can tough him because his wrestling is down pat
@@wrestlar3246 read my comment.Weidman and the other wrestlers beat maia because they used their striking.I said maia only loses whene the wrestler is a good striker.Demain maia is a bjj specialist so obviously a good wrestler with good striking beats him but they don't use their wrestling to beat him.My Argument is pure wrestling vs pure bjj pure bjj wins everytime.Maia vs askren was a perfect example of pure wrestling vs pure striking.Usman also beat maia but usman is a very well rounded fighter who can strike
Your stories are priceless CHAEL please keep telling us more of those old time stories you make me lose it every time. I got tears rolling down my face my face hurts from laughing too hard I love it...
Is this when the curse of Chael started. "If you can call someone falling off a ladder you can never get a prediction correct forever," says the devil. "OK" Leg crossed.
I trained out of an LA dojo owned by Eric Oram, Robert Downey Jr’s Wing Chun instructor. My sensei Robert Goodwin was Christian Bale’s trainer for Batman and was trainer for live-action TMNT movie. I was his assistant for stunt-fighting classes. Mr. Goodwin got some emails of guys wanting to challenge him. He gave them the address and our class schedule, and told me I would be the one who’d have to take them on. But no one ever showed.
Something about Chael's understanding of business is something to admire. 0:35 - Chael: reading from a card or some digital screen with point bulletpoints of the cereals the different flavors, the company's money back gurantee, etc Me, also lazy: adlib is the way to go baby , all natural (as I fuck up lines and change the script multiple times)
Can we get a ton more of these story time videos where you tell all sorts of different stories about the MMA world and the fighters in it? These stories are the best!! Lol
I remember one day in practice my coach told me to gear up for sparring. I go in the ring to meet my opponent only to see my coach putting on headgear and lacing up the gloves. I'll never forget that sparring, I was so gun shy with my punches cause it felt really weird to hit my coach.
I remember leaving my house once going to my friend's house and I knew we were gonna fight that day with someone.... it wasn't me it was there people that had a problem with my friend in that neighborhood.... him and me and one other guy took on 6 people... my friend was the only guy that didn't need medical attention.... it sucked.... that was over 20 years ago. Today I can sit at a table with every person involved from both sides and have dinner and drink and know that none of us are worrying about anyone else. But kids don't do that anymore... they wanna pull a piece out and spray everywhere...
Also when you were driving through Williamson... you passed an open area that had parking? That used to be the location of the Williamson daily news.... that whole block was one building and it had an awning that ran the length of the block.... on Friday and Saturday nights that's where everyone in the area would park and display and show there cars while we cruised Williamson.... it was awesome.... custom trucks, cars, bikes driving around, everyone was cool, the cops didn't hassle ya that much; and everyone basically got along. The mid and late 90s were a great time to be alive in Williamson.
I go gym to gym and challenge the best boxer in the gym lmao. I get the best of them and move on to the next gym lmao. I was garbage at first, but now I can say i'm low tier pro
These kind of stories happened unfortunately, even in my hometown. But, not everyone is Lindland or Couture or the Gracies, and sometimes it happened that the street brawlers beat the shit out of teachers- especially the ones who taught only traditional styles. Witnessing to this at times was refreshing... and a tremendous life lesson!! Kind of like, never put to much faith into the style and think the style in itself will save you. It's more about your guts, your skills, your toughness, the hardship of your training, and the way you can combine all the different arts and taylor them to your own individual self.
Spent brief time training with Pedro Sauer. Talked about how Gracie system was partially developed like this in the beginning, but it was the Gracies bringing people in....At the time, construction workers would get paid something like $4 a day in Rio. Helio would go to them and offer $6 to fight his boys, and around $10 if they could win the fight (not positive on the amounts).Got the boys experience in real fights instead of just rolling, and helped Helio further develop the style.
I think it is so funny to speak about how noble and gentlemen like the Gracies’ were, because I remember in the ufc seeing a guy tap to Royce and Royce not releasing the hold.
I was really hoping the story finished "and ladies and gentlemen it was I chael sonnon, who was taking a tour of the gym that day and that was the Prometheus of the bad guy"
It's not that you guys at Team Quest weren't tough guys, it's that you were secure in yourself and your abilities and what you taught, so when ever anyone said anything about you, you could easily write it off and laugh at it. Those guys were insecure in themselves and couldn't even handle the possibility that another gym was better than them and was saying they sucked.
The Gracie's talking about integrity in fighting that is hilarious. I wonder how they would feel about say three people jumping on a guy because they couldn't beat him and ruining his career with a lead pipe
Chaels memory is a little hazy. He clearly said to his friend that he predicted JT would NOT fall off a ladder.... which also explains why JT fell off a ladder.
