*_As an update :_* Jacob has received his control bionics eye gaze computer! The computer allows him to use a keyboard to speak. It also allows him access to Facebook, RU-vid, texting and more. Jacob is working daily to master his new device. It will take time for him to use it quickly. But he is making progress.
Zack does Jacop intend to start a RU-vid or other Social Media so others can follow him on his Journey? I'm overjoyed that he able to communicate. I lost my best friend to a Bastular Anyurism three years ago August. He was only 30.
This woman being an open vessel for GOD to use her - If she's aware of that or not - Show's how AMAZING GOD IS!!! May the continue to bless her and him along with all health care workers on the front line daily! 🗝️📖🎁❤️🙏🏽⚔️🛡️🔥🕊️🕊️🕊️🔥
The nurse lady is such a sweetheart. However Jacob's medical bill is going to cost him his life all over again. You're looking at over 1 million dollar medical expenses already. God bless Jacob! So sad that he had no families left other than his extremely ill parents.
My brother suffered from a brain stem stroke in 2014 and he was locked in and unable to breath on his own and was only able to communicate with his eyes. He told us that he did not want to live like this and was taken off life support. He died 5 minutes later. I want to thank these caregivers for letting him know they are there for him. RIP Allen.
I am so sorry for your loss. I am also relieved that your brother was able to communicate with your family how he felt and to be "heard". Even with all that I've seen in my EMS career l just can't imagine a patient not having ANY kind of voice in their health care.
@@amberfitz-randolph392 sadly their right he did pass away ...As someone that had a Near Death Experience as a child I hope this man found peace in death and freedom on the other side for all he did for his country Jacob Matthew Creasman, 33, of Etowah passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 in an Etowah healthcare facility. You're finally free Jacob. Rest in Paradise. He passed away 15JUL2022 in Cleveland, TN. Thank you Tricia Limpus and all the other caretakers for making his last couple years comfortable.

You need to see a lawyer to get an Advance Directive prepared (also referred to as a Living Will, or a Medical Proxy). Once you have the documents prepared, you give them to your primary care physician and they will scan them into your medical records. That way they can see it if you become incapacitated. You also give a copy to your spouse, siblings and close friends. It reduces the chances of anyone in your life refusing to obey it. It will also allow the hospital to get an Order from a Judge if it is challenged by your family. This subject is very unpleasant, but you have to speak up while you can.

I can relate to Jacob. I’m an Air Force veteran that also had a brain aneurysm on the right side of my head. It ended my career as an Air Traffic Controller, but I’m thankful to still be alive. My prayers go out to you brother, I wish you the best!
I just had a brain anurism and almost died, myself . I was poisoned by another foreign employee at work . I woke up in the hospital after being in a Coma. I'm on permanent disability now ...
@@jessiejames2155 Jessie, I wish you the best brother, I had a lot of rehabilitation I had to do to get back close to being normal. I am thankful and my prayers goes out to you!
I hear you bro. I'm m an 11 year army combat veteran. I've had two brain tumors removed and am medically retired. I still have some really bad seizures here and there but always try to stay strong 💪
If he can communicate with a smart, kind R.N. he is not alone. His elderly parents are suffering without him. I will pray that he improves further. Thank you for your service Sir.
He’s basically abandoned with no family and I guess no friends who can legally step up and advocate for him. What a horrible life being stuck in your body like that.
Also his parents are both ill, if he has no one then it seems they don’t either. I would imagine if the parents had someone caring for them (who’s related or a friend) they would have looked out for him too.
@@rickobrien4025 he communicates through the alphabet eye gaze system they set up. He would have asked her to help him die if that was what he wanted but it isn't. I think he likes HER a lot and she obviously ❤ loves him
@@rickobrien4025 So you didn't watch the clip? He's communicating through the transparent letter/number board that has letters and numbers in groups of 6, his nurse follows the eye movements and interprets the letters, he's locking his gaze in to words. This same technique and symbol board is used with ALS patients who have no acces to gaze-following communication technology.
@@rickobrien4025 I don't think he would ask to be let go. He is happy to be alive and is truly blessed to be out of the coma. I dont know what it is like to be in a coma but if you have the ability to hear think while youre under, i am sure all you would like to do is open your eyes even if atleast one more time. The song "I can only imagine" is a Christian song describing how indescribable it would be to see and meet Jesus. Who knows if this Marine is a devoted Christian but i am sure he thanks God for allowing him to hear, smell, see again and even communicate. He may not have full function of his body but his story spreads hope to those whose family members are also in comas.
Unfortunately Jacob passed on 7/15/22. One year after this news piece on him. I saw this a couple yrs ago, was on my RU-vid feed again. Curious about what happened to him, if he was better and found out he died. Shocked me a bit. It's sad that some people have to suffer so much and can't have a happy ending. Rest in peace Jacob, your free now. With God.
@@harisinam4078 his ability to continue to smile even through everything he had been through gives me strength and puts my own circumstances in life into a new perspective.
There are 2 situations though, one more horrific than the other. I saw on Scary Interesting a case where a guy woke up come a coma in Locked in Syndrome for years without anyone ever realizing! Therefore he did not have any family or nurses who would talk to or nurture him or provide him any kind of stimulation. Once, it was either his mother or wife, said out loud to him, they wish he would just die, not realizing he could hear them. Somehow, he kept the will to live and eventually a nurse noticed a slight response in his eyes, and everyoneiu0 found out he was conscious the entire time. He was at least able to communicate in his last few years, but his fate was the same as Jacob's eventually. 45r
I am digusted that his own military "family" hasnt helped him in any way (that we knw of)!! Why hasnt the goverment helped him? This nurse is a guardian angel!!
My heart is breaking for him! In 2012, I also had a brain aneurysm but I survived the surgery by doing the coil. I’m thankful to God for my recovery and I’m sending prayers for this awesome marine! God Bless him!
@OdysseyK yeah?! %100 disabled but still work 60 hrs a week bc I'm not TDIU, I raise my sons well, own my own clothing line and have deployed to Iraq &Afghanistan. How am I weak?
Marines are not soldiers, though they have been referred to as “soldiers of the sea” in past recruiting posters. In the U.S., people not in the Army are not soldiers, especially so for Marines - who will strongly protest being painted with that brush.
David_kang3Kang......No disrespect intended to this Marine. I was unaware that calling a Marine a soldier was offensive. My main sentiment was to emphasize that there are no former Marines. ( I've always thought that anyone who fought for a noble cause was considered a soldier) God Bless!
@@firstnamelastname8790 you are incorrect. The Marine Corp has a unique and valid way of referring to those who served but are no longer on active duty. Once a Marine, ALWAYS A MARINE.
Because he fought for a governments illegal war and not for his country. His countrymen don't feel a need to take care of him because his countrymen didn't ask him to go to war. His government tricked him to go to war and then treated him like the useless tool he let himself be. Very sad, but this is America!
People not having these life challenges tend to take life for granted. When you see people having these life struggles, it makes you realize how blessed you are.
How tragic. I had a ruptured brain aneurysm two years ago and I’m so lucky I fully recovered. If you ever feel something like an electric shock hit the top of your head, go to the ER immediately. This is what I experienced when my aneurysm burst (of course I had no idea at the time - just knew something was wrong). God bless this man and his caregiver.
@@nonenone2669 the shock was painful for a minute or so. I also had a really painful and stiff neck. It did take my breath away for a minute and then I got super hot. I put some ice packs on for a minute and felt better and almost went to bed instead.
This lady is an angel. If I were in his situation I would want nothing but to die. Thank god for this nurse and anyone like her. You are making a whole world of difference. Thank you.
I was an ICU nurse. Family and friends will say “Do everything that can be done to keep them alive” without understanding what the aftermath and quality of life will be after. I have empathy for the family that it’s not an easy decision. But seeing cases like these every week made me leave the ICU. There are worse things than death but as a society we don’t seem to accept that. This is an anoxic injury and it isn’t rare. Heart goes out to him.
@cxxx valee ya know I can only speak from my personal experiences and what I would want. I guess it’s unfair for me to say “who would want that” but at the same time I gotta say who the hell would want that? I agree. Thank you for your service for real. ❤️💪🏽
I can see how some people would want to try and get better no matter what. The hope to get better is enough for them. Some want to be around for other people like their kids or partners, no matter their state. But for me id rather not. I agree with the other commentors here. I've told my mom similar things, where if its a major lifelong complication or a high chance of more pain for the rest of my life then let me go. I've lived with chronic pain this far, it something happens that makes it even more unbearable just please let me go and let me rest.
@@h.s.6269 True. I can also understand that different life experiences lead to different decision making. I guess the view of what suffering is might not be unanimous. But for the ones that didn’t put it in writing before hand I really feel for. A lack of documentation(will, POA, DNR etc etc) was at times a big deciding factor of what a persons future would look like.

When not restricted by Covid, what's stopping the rest of us from volunteering to read to patients? We could alleviate their boredom, stimulate their minds, and allow them to feel a connection. Even for those still in comas, since many have awareness, later telling about listening to conversations around them.
Because of Basic B’s abusing the VA System. According to their “testimony” there are a thousand times as many “rapists” as there are in the general pollution. They are Big Sister Police Statists, all the homeless veterans are Men.
