@@amystrauss7337 Not to my knowledge- one girl survived with ''Milwaukee protocol'' but that treatment has failed in others. Immediate post-bite/scratch treatment is crucial. {pre-bite vaccine is good in a rabies area, too.

@@myendlesslove5120 Once the animal starts displaying symptoms it will die within days. The symptoms are a result of brain damage caused by the rabies virus. The best thing you can do for your pets, yourself, and your community is vaccinate your pets.

Dr. Morden cites another quote from Dr. Woods, in which he suggests alternative causes for the symptoms often labeled as "rabies"; "In animals, the so-called symptoms referred to as rabies are basically due to abuse or malnutrition or both." Supposedly the shots arent always in the belly anymore, just around the bite area

Bro , if there is any animal bite and especially you suspect rabies then they should not stitch the wound . That's medical fault there

A stray dog 5 years ago rushed at myself and my two dogs. My adult dog managed to grab it but I got bitten in the process. Dog was euthanized and found to be rabid causing me to receive an anti tetanus shot, plus immunoglobulin shots at each puncture site which were painful. Also received 5 anti rabies shots in alternative arms over 28 days, not painful. Thankfully my dogs were vaccinated and we all were non the worse for the encounter.

And this video doesn’t even show what it looks like when a human has it … it’s just horrific. No animal should have to suffer like this :’(

I'm kind of freaking out now because just last night (05-30-23) something attacked my parents' dog. Now my mom is talking about us taking her to the vet...I REALLY don't want my parents or me to touch the dog. Especially since she is bleeding. Both parents are at work right now so it's just me in the house watching the dog who is outside (she stays outdoors at all times) 😰. I'm really hoping my mom will consider waiting until my dad comes back home if she comes back before he does. And decide on how to handle this because the last thing we need is getting infected with rabies with how tight money has been lately 😓.

​@@TheMeloettaful stupid. If it's bitten than just wash the wound and take to vet . You won't get infected if you just touch the dog. If the dogs is rabid and bites you then only you will get infection

@@POKEMANZZ3 I don't think she was. She previously belonged to another relative before said relative got put in assisted living. Not long at all after posting my comment she died 😔. We still have no idea what attacked her. Either a coyote or more likely a bobcat is what I'm thinking (we live in the country). And craziest of all it got past the fence somehow 😰.

They have eliminated Dog-mediated HUMAN rabies deaths. they have not yet declared their freedom from the disease in dogs

Distemper and dumb (paralytic) rabies often look identical on the surface, and the only way to tell them apart is by examining the brain tissue. And it is entirely possible for an animal to have both distemper and rabies.

Vaccination doesn't prevent rabies infection 100%.

Assuming the dog goes outside to go to the bathroom, yes. If you are in the United States, the UK, Canada, or another country with low prevalence of rabies in domestic animals, almost all cases of rabies come from wild animals not pet dogs or cats. A freshly dead bat with rabies in the backyard can contain a high enough viral load to pass the disease on to your dog if he or she was to sniff it and just graze a claw or tooth against his or her nose. Without preventative or post exposure vaccination, the disease is 100% fatal.

I agree 👍 too. The video is of great value. It will be good if the music background is removed and it is reposted. It adds no value to the serious content of the video and is actually distracting.

There are subtitles directly attached to the video. The music helps communicate the emotion of the disease. Rabies is sad, scary, cruel, and still not fully understood. The music matches that situation well. And a video with music has the ability to reach a wider audience, makes the content more immersive, piques interest and paints a fuller picture.
