Thank you for sharing. I know you said in the past. Can you let us know again the book you are using here in this video? I remember modeling tanks and airplanes back in the 70's. Good advice. Thanks again.

Boomer, thank you, a very peaceful, inspirational discussion on modelling philosophy. My father used to say: "The job not started takes the longest to complete". I now start, review, modify, and sometime I have to come back, when I get a mental block. As you say, sometimes you need to come back, and not do it all in one sitting. Thank you for the great motivation. Cheers, and stay safe, Michael

"A representation of you in a moment of time ,space and history", wow. I was looking at my layout the other day and said to myself, "this looks like the 1990-2000's or earler. I haven't improved my techniques. That is why. Me, I have stood still in the way I approach the " work". True , I've been in a funk ,but I haven't applied any change to the way I approach the hobby. I'd like to thank you for helping me understand that there is something and helping me understand what is wrong. God bless you Boomer, now I hope to move on and enjoy my "work".

That sounds fantastic. Often times when I don't feel it, I make a decision to just leave certain things the way they are and forge ahead anyway. Good things come, and then I revisit those behind and they begin to make sense in the collective journey. This hobby is inexhaustibly awesome! Cheers ~ Boomer.

Thanks again for the inspirational content yet again! 👊🏻 Couldn’t agree more with the overly flashy thumbnail comment. Several references in your content to our relationship with fear. Reminds me of an old Star Trek episode which actually portrayed fear as a character. Turned out that the only thing that character wanted, the only reason he existed was to be conquered! 👍🏻

No one is born with the knowledge; it has to be earned and learned and that goes for everything in life. There are a thousand sayings that distill down to a chance not taken is a guarantee of failure. So, let's arm ourselves with a little knowledge and get to it.

Hey Boomer Love the video. I have been taking a lot more chances after watching your videos. Some surprise me and look great others …..well??? But anything can be changed or redone . I thought after the 50 odd years that I ve been modelling I would have developed a style or rhythm but I keep learning, and I think that’s what keeps it interesting after all this time. Once again great video As always Cheers from Ontario Bob

Boomer, I enjoy watching, listening and seeing the results of great work you do. Your eye and sense for color and blending is unparalleled. Thank you for the time and energy and money spent on promoting and inspiring. I do have a request. I’m stuck: your switch stands, I’m sure they are scratchbuilt; I’m dying to know if they are working stands and how you made them regardless if they work or not. Thanks so much… Frank

I wish there was a place to learn how to make a print from an idea/drawing or simple prototype... too steep of a learning curve for me with the software, but I would love to make some simple parts... I keep looking... night classes or something... Shapeways has been no help in that regard.

Yes, Boomer, I totally relate to the concept to tackle any challenge I face. I noticed most people who are just wired differently and lack any curiosity, imagination, and creativity, are just so clueless for my involvement and love of this hobby that they are totally missing the point. It's sad and frustrating they just don't seem to get all this hobby has to offer and are content to live a boring, meaningless, unfulfilled life and seem determined just to exist until a meaningless end. I was aware from an early age that I was a gifted dreamer with the ability to create or repair almost anything with my own two God given hands. That and I was given a mother who worked hard at instilling in me negativity and self-doubt and then backed that up by positive reinforcement by telling me I would never amount to be anything. Well the negative/ positive reverse psychology paid off. Aparently I've been determined to prove her wrong every since and she passed away 15 years ago. Or maybe it's just who I am anyway, regardless of the nurturing. I knew she didn't have a clue what she was talking about because I'm a dreamer with a vivid imagination and could be anything I wanted to be because I had the ability to make my dreams come true with my own two God given hands. Happy rails
