It's also a great song by a great band that doesn't need to be contextualised by its potential usage in a long since defunct video game franchise, but you do you.
Played midnight club 3 again in my ps2 for the first time in years and this song played. So glad it did I remember it so well can’t believe I forgot it
Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix. The game I spent half of my childhood playing. I used to repeat this song, Pain (Jimmy Eat World) and Rock Is Dead (Marilyn Manson). So much nostalgia.
Lyrics: If I know, what I know, then no one will watch over you So someone shouldn't really tell me what I want to know I know, I owe, and I know that matters don't matter as much As you think they do Cause you will only be yourself When you can never be yourself And you will only be yourself When you understand what you know How long, will we go on with a modern way of letting go, Tell me how long will we go on with the modern way of letting you go? If I know, what I know, losing isn't learning to be lost It's learning to know when you're lost And I know, what I know, I'll want to make the most of what it seems like You will only be yourself When you can never be yourself And you will only be yourself When you understand what you know How long, will we go on with a modern way of letting you go, Tell me how long will we go on with the modern way of letting you go?
I played this in my car at a red light and it made me want to relive my midnight club dub edition remix days and just floor it and fly down the freeway
I have no idea where I heard this song as a teenager when it first came out. I also have no idea what made me think of it tonight and go hunting for it again. Glad I did though, good stuff!
This is not the video I remember... the one I saw had the camera locking onto the movement of each of the band's instruments, and then panning through the house.
can someone recommend me more bands like this one please??! something that is a mix between punk rock and indie, not so heavy, but with a consistent sound like this one, maybe something like bad religion or husker du idk
Maybe Cooper Temple Clause or Vex Red or 3 Colours Red, My Vitriol, Hundred Reasons. This kind of Alternative British rock died its death in the 2010s unfortunatley.
if you look up Music Map and type a band name eg for Idlewild, it lists bands it thinks are similar eg Ash, Twilight Sad, Frightened Rabbit, Feeder, Hell is for Heroes, Reindeer Section, Snow Patrol, Bluetones etc.. for alt rock you could also try earlier Biffy Clyro albums, less pop than recent output
