A Moment of Tiki Episode 41: Godfathers of Tiki 

We've hit 1,000 subscribers! It's hard to believe so many people have taken an interest in my little RU-vid tiki show, but each and every one of you has my thanks! I promise I will do my best to continue bringing you the dubious content that fills this channel.
This month brings with it a new book review--or, more properly, book reviews. I take the opportunity to do a fairly shallow dive (because a true deep dive would easily take several days) into the newly-released OCEANIC ARTS: THE GODFATHERS OF TIKI, as well as the companion volume, OCEANIC ARTS AUCTION CATALOG. As I say in the episode, either one of these books would've been an event had they been published at any time over the past decade. To have them simultaneously appear borders on tiki overload. That they come out in conjunction with the massive, two-day Oceanic Arts auction is just ridiculous. Join me as I flip through the many, many pages in these two volumes to determine if they merit their hefty price tags.
