I appreciate that brian actually gave us some of his time to talk about Godzilla and the way they do stuff in super7. Not many companies allow people to talk about what they as a company do certain things for the customers so you got to give super7 respect for actually talking to their customer base.
Great interview! Some good insight into the thought process of Brian/Super7. I have not watched many interviews with him before. The ones I have come across have typically been on IPs I am not interested in. Previously I commented that I thought Super7 was fomo pumping with the limited quantity release and limited time preorder(which was reopened once). So it was interesting/good I felt to hear Brian say that he did not like announcing how many of something was produced because of what it then causes(scalpers, resellers, and actual fans missing out). It was also nice to hear preorders are tanking/fading away abit and simple product availability is coming back. It would be very interesting in the future if Brian would be comfortable/able to speak on Super7's relationship with their suppliers/factories. A previous comment from a Super7 designer on how the factory ignored their ball joint design and made a figure how the factory wanted has always sat wrong with me. What is this dynamic? What is the working relationship that there is no communication there and the factory does as it pleases? How or can this be improved, or is it simply down to it being cost prohibitive(if they did it the price point would be off)? Maybe that is too insider toy business and not just Godzilla in general, but I am so curious. I appreciate that Super7 does these interviews. They take a lot of heat from toy collectors, but they are out here responding, interacting and making lots of cool things. Not everyone has to like it all, but we're all fans of something. The hot dog analogy was great, and a lot of people could use that thought process in everyday life. Chill out! Myself included sometimes 😅 Wasn't going to type all this, but figured a good video/interview deserved the interaction. Always easy to knock out a quick gripe in the comments when something is bad. When it's a good video so often I just think I really liked that, maybe give it a like, and move on. Thank you to you and Brian, enjoyed it!
I really appreciate you taking the time to write some positive thoughts :) I don't think companies can bad mouth their factories they continue to work with, but they've said in the past about how they've moved away from factories with really poor team spirit. One of those factories shipped Super7s product without ever getting approval because they just wanted them out the door before Lunar New Year!
We really enjoy Brian giving frequently interviews to different YT channels - we always get some news regarding our hobby. BTW he wasent alone in the room during the interview ?
Sounds like Brian WILL come to the decision to reissue the Minus Color! I like your heat ray idea, but hope it comes with BOTH original heads along with the new one, or else I'm in the same boat needing the original issue (Hopefully Brian sees the light here!).
While I tend to agree with Brian that Ebirah is probably not a figure that would sell particularly well, it is pretty hilarious that he would say that when a large chunk of the Dave the Diver x Godzilla DLC trailer features Ebirah.
